Cooling-off period (14 days)

Required proof: membership start or renewal date (email or receipt). If you have used benefits during the 14 days, Halfords will deduct the value of benefits used from any refund. If the value of used benefits exceeds payments made, no refund is due. Applicable law: Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
End of minimum term (12-month minimum)
Rule: Premium has a 12-month minimum term. You cannot cancel during the initial 12 months except within the 14-day cooling-off period with unused benefits. After the initial 12 months, you must give 30 days notice before renewal to avoid auto-renewal.
Required proof: membership start date and cancellation request timestamp. Applicable law: Consumer Rights Act 2015 (contract fairness) and terms published by Halfords. For membership length see how long is the membership.
Price increase
Rule: If Halfords increases the membership price you may have rights under your contract terms to cancel. Halfords' published policy is not publicly detailed for automatic price increases; check your renewal communication for options.
Required proof: copy of renewal notice showing the price increase and your membership details. Applicable law: Consumer Rights Act 2015 for fairness of contract terms and CMA guidance on auto-renewal.
Death of subscriber or serious incapacity
Rule: Halfords may accept termination for serious hardship or death, but this is at Halfords' discretion and may require payment for benefits already claimed.
Required proof: death certificate or medical evidence. Halfords' policy for these specific grounds is not publicly disclosed by Halfords Premium.
Legitimate ground / special circumstances
Rule: Halfords states it may agree to early termination in special circumstances. If Halfords agrees, you may be required to pay the remainder of fees or reimburse costs for benefits claimed.
Required proof: supporting evidence requested by Halfords (not publicly disclosed). Applicable law: Consumer Rights Act 2015 regarding unfair contract terms and CMA guidance on fair treatment of consumers.
