Overview

Barclays Travel Pack is a packaged current account add-on that combines worldwide multi-trip travel insurance for you and family, plus UK and European breakdown cover provided in partnership with RAC. The pack is available to Barclays current account holders and is charged as a monthly fee.

Web / App (Online Banking)

1. Open the Barclays app or visit Online Banking and sign in using your credentials.

2. Ask to cancel the Travel Pack at the counter; the branch can process the cancellation immediately.

1. Write a signed cancellation letter including your full name, account number, and statement you wish to Cancel the Travel Pack.

Cooling-off period (14 days)

Rule: You have a statutory 14-day cooling-off period under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 for distance or off-premises contracts. The period starts on the date you opened or purchased the Travel Pack or the date you received policy documents, whichever is later.

Required proof: Date of purchase or date policy documents received (screenshots of confirmation emails, date in Online Banking, or a copy of the IPID). To request a refund, Cancel within 14 days and state you are exercising your cancellation right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.

End of minimum commitment (after 6 months)

Rule: The Travel Pack has a 6 month minimum commitment. After your 6 month term you may Cancel and there is no cancellation fee.

Required proof: No proof required to request cancellation after the minimum term. Use the app/phone/branch or post methods described above.

Price increase

Rule: If Barclays raises the Pack fee, you can Cancel if the change materially alters your contract. Barclays must notify you of changes.

Required proof: Notification from Barclays showing the price increase. Keep the notification and request cancellation stating the price change as the reason.

Death of subscriber

Rule: On death of the account holder and primary insured person, a representative can Cancel the Pack and request any applicable refunds in line with insurer policy.

Upgrade cancellation rules

Rule: For Travel Pack upgrades a full refund is available if cancelled within 14 days provided no one insured has travelled and no claim has been made or is likely to be made. Outside 14 days, no refund of premium for upgrades will be given.
