If you opened a Freetrade GIA, ISA, JISA or Plan online you have a 14 day cooling-off right to cancel the relevant product or the Plan. To exercise, contact [email protected] with your request within 14 days of opening the account or starting the Plan. For ISA and GIA openings the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 apply. Applicable law: Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
If you requested an ISA transfer to Freetrade you can cancel only the transfer within 14 days of Freetrade receiving the transfer. Contact [email protected]. Freetrade will take reasonable steps to return cash or investments to the previous provider. Applicable law: Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
If Freetrade increases a recurring Plan fee or changes essential contract terms you may have the right to terminate the Plan without penalty if the change breaches the contract terms. Provide the notice email or message showing the change and your cancellation request. Applicable law: Consumer Rights Act 2015 and general consumer contract protections under FCA oversight.
On the death of an account holder, executors should contact Freetrade by email to [email protected] and supply a death certificate and probate or letters of administration as proof. Freetrade will provide next steps for transferring or closing the account. Applicable law: standard estate administration procedures under UK probate rules.
Freetrade accepts cancellation for: cooling-off within 14 days; ISA/transfer cancellations within 14 days; Plan cancellations. When cancelling a GIA, ISA, JISA or a transfer the consumer bears any investment gains or losses which occurred after opening or initiating the transfer. For Treasuries held at cancellation the principal is returned without accrued yield if not held to maturity.
Freetrade has no minimum contract length for most accounts; standard Plan subscriptions renew monthly or annually. To prevent renewal, cancel the Plan or account before the next billing date. Applicable law: Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 and CMA guidance on auto-renewals.
Research does not show specific public retention offers from Freetrade. If you want to ask for a retention offer contact support by email [email protected] or use the in-app Chat Function and request options such as a temporary discount on your Plan or a downgrade to Basic. When contacting support include your account email and explain which Plan you currently pay for and the date of your next billing.

Freetrade is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). Consumers in the United Kingdom benefit from the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. The Consumer Contracts Regulations provide a 14 day cooling-off right for online contracts where it applies.
If Freetrade cannot meet its obligations because of insolvency, the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) may pay compensation under its rules. For complaints first contact Freetrade via the Chat Function, email [email protected], or by post to the postal complaints address listed on Freetrade's site. If you remain dissatisfied you can escalate to the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS). The Financial Ombudsman Service can be contacted online or by phone; see the FOS for details.
The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) treats hard-to-cancel subscriptions and unclear auto-renewal terms as potentially unfair. If your cancellation is blocked without a valid contractual basis you can raise the matter with Citizens Advice and the CMA guidance may support your complaint.
Applicable statutory references: Consumer Rights Act 2015; Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013; The Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008 (see regulation 27F). If Freetrade rejects a valid statutory cancellation or refund, keep written records and escalate to the Financial Ombudsman Service after you exhaust Freetrade's internal complaint process.
After you submit cancellation, Freetrade processes closure with a 30 day notice. You are responsible for arranging transfers of investments to another provider or instructing sale of holdings. For ISA and transfer cancellations within the 14 day cooling-off period Freetrade will facilitate returning transfers to the previous provider where applicable.
Plan fees already paid may be refunded if you cancel within the 14 day cooling-off period for Plans. Outside the cooling-off period no cancellation fee applies, but Plan benefits stop after notice. For details see Freetrade's terms and conditions and plan pages.
If you close your account request confirmation of data retention or deletion via [email protected]. To reopen an account you will need to reapply and pass identity checks. Keep copies of confirmation emails for your records.
