Moving address or leaving the UK
If you move country such that Monzo Extra is no longer available, contact support with proof of address or relocation documents. Monzo's plans are available in the United Kingdom only; provide official documents showing your new residence if requested.
Price increase
If Monzo increases the price of Extra you can cancel and ask for a refund where applicable. For distance-sold contracts you have rights under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. Provide the notice of price change sent by Monzo as proof.
Death of subscriber
If the account holder dies, the executor should contact Monzo with a death certificate and proof of executorship. Cancellation of Extra will be processed when Monzo has the required legal documents.
Legitimate grounds accepted by Monzo Extra
Monzo accepts cancellations via the in-app flow, and accepts cooling-off cancellations within 14 days. Monzo has acknowledged an unauthorised trial enrolment incident on the Monzo community. Provide correspondence from Monzo or community confirmation if filing a complaint. Applicable law: Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 and FCA Consumer Duty guidance.
End of commitment
There is no minimum commitment for Monzo Extra. You can cancel at any time with immediate processing in the app. Applicable law: Consumer Rights Act 2015 for service performance and unfair terms.
Cooling-off (14-day statutory right)
If you signed up to Monzo Extra remotely you have a 14-day cooling-off period under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. To get a refund, cancel within 14 days and request a refund. If you claimed a Railcard during signup Monzo may deduct £23 from the refund. If you ordered a plan card Monzo may deduct £5 from the refund. Applicable law: Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
