Cooling-off period (14 day right to cancel)
If you bought the membership online or off-premises you have a 14 day cooling-off right under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. The 14 day period starts the day after the contract was made. To exercise the right, contact Customer Services by phone, email or post with your cancellation request. If you cancel within 14 days and have not used any membership Benefits, you are entitled to a full refund.
Required proof documents: copy of the purchase confirmation, order number, and your cancellation request. Applicable law: Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
Used benefits during the cooling-off period
If you used one or more Benefits within the 14 day cancellation period The Fragrance Shop may deduct an amount proportionate to the value of the Benefits already received from your refund. If the value of the Benefit(s) exceeds the Initial Subscription Fee paid, no refund will be payable. This is stated in The Fragrance Shop refund terms.
Required proof documents: evidence of the purchase, dates of benefits used, and membership payment receipt.
Price increase
If The Fragrance Shop seeks to increase membership fees unilaterally, the Consumer Rights Act 2015 protects against unfair contract terms. A significant unexplained unilateral price increase may be challengeable. Contact Customer Services demanding specific contractual basis and, if necessary, follow escalation steps listed below.
Required proof documents: a copy of the membership terms, evidence of the original price and the notice of the increase. Applicable law: Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Moving abroad
If you are moving permanently outside the service area (United Kingdom and Ireland) contact Customer Services and provide proof such as a new utility bill or tenancy agreement showing the new address. The Fragrance Shop Membership's availability is listed for the United Kingdom and Ireland; out of area moves are grounds to ask for cancellation and refund where services cannot be provided.
Required proof documents: copy of new proof of residency and membership details.
Death of the subscriber
In case of the death of the subscriber, contact Customer Services and provide a copy of the death certificate and proof of your authority to act for the estate. The Fragrance Shop will handle the request on receipt of documentation and may issue a refund for unused periods subject to the refund policy.
Required proof documents: death certificate and executor or next of kin identification documents.
End of commitment
If your membership term ends and it does not auto-renew or if auto-renewal continues, submit a cancellation request before the renewal date. If auto-renewal terms are unclear, the Competition and Markets Authority may consider hard-to-cancel subscription clauses unfair.
Required proof documents: membership start date and renewal notice if provided. Applicable guidance: Competition and Markets Authority on auto-renewals and hard-to-cancel subscriptions.
