Cancel TrainingPeaks the easy way

Overview

TrainingPeaks is a training platform for endurance athletes and coaches that stores workouts, provides planning tools and performance analysis. It offers a free account and a paid Premium tier that unlocks advanced planning and analytics.

Who uses it

Target users are runners, cyclists, triathletes, coaches, World Tour cycling teams and elite athletes. TrainingPeaks also supports structured training plans and coach-athlete communication.

Web cancellation (recommended)

1. Sign in to your Athlete Account at trainingpeaks.com.
2. Click your name in the top-right corner, choose Settings.
3. Open Subscriptions and Payments, click the 'Manage your subscriptions and payments' link and then 'Manage Subscriptions'.
4. Follow prompts to stop auto-renewal. The account will remain Premium until the end of the paid billing period and then revert to the free account.

iOS / Apple Store purchases

1. If you purchased via Apple, you must cancel through the Apple App Store subscription manager. TrainingPeaks cannot cancel or refund Apple Store charges directly.
2. Open Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions or open the App Store > tap your profile > Subscriptions, then select TrainingPeaks and Cancel Subscription.

Android / Google Play purchases

1. If purchase was made through Google Play, open the Google Play Store app > Menu > Subscriptions, select TrainingPeaks and cancel.
2. If you need a refund for Play purchases, use Google Play refund processes; TrainingPeaks documentation advises platform-specific refund management.

Email and Help Center

1. Open a ticket via TrainingPeaks Help Center or email [email protected] for account questions or refund requests.

Cancellation by post

1. Send a registered letter with subscriber details and request to cancel to: TrainingPeaks, 3001 30th Street, 80301 Boulder, USA.
2. Include proof of identity and the email used for the account and retain delivery receipt.

Cooling-off (14-day right)

If you bought the subscription online, the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 give a 14-day cancellation right for distance contracts. If you exercise this right before the digital service has started, you are entitled to a refund within 14 days of the trader being informed. If you started the digital content during the 14 days with your express consent and acknowledged loss of the right, the cooling-off right may not apply. See Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.

Price increase

If TrainingPeaks increases the price during an active contract and you did not agree to the change, you may be able to cancel and request a refund for future charges. Provide the invoice showing the price change and correspondence. Applicable law: Consumer Rights Act 2015 for services performed with reasonable care and skill.

Moving abroad

If you move country and need cancellation for cross-border issues, provide proof of new residence (utility bill or tenancy agreement). TrainingPeaks does not publish a formal moving policy; submit a Help Center ticket with documents and request cancellation or plan change.

Death of subscriber

For death of the account holder, provide a death certificate and account email. TrainingPeaks support will evaluate requests; submit documents through the Help Center.

Legitimate grounds TrainingPeaks accepts

TrainingPeaks accepts requests via web account management and support tickets. For Apple Store purchases TrainingPeaks instructs customers to use Apple processes. For refunds see the TrainingPeaks refund policy which allows full refunds within 7 days of initial purchase or renewal: Refund Request. Applicable law: Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 and Consumer Rights Act 2015.

End of commitment

When you cancel via the account web flow or the app store, the subscription remains active until the end of the paid period and then ends. If you cancel mid-period you will not be billed again; there is no automatic prorated refund unless within the 7-day refund window and eligible under TrainingPeaks policy.

Before you cancel: negotiate

TrainingPeaks does not publish standard retention offers. Research does not report a formal, public retention discount. You can open a Help Center ticket or email [email protected] to request a promotional price or ask for annual discount codes associated with partners. If you purchased via a third party or promotion (for example British Triathlon), include proof of the discount code or promotional offer when you contact support.

What cancelling saves you

Calculate yearly saving by terminating the Premium plan. Monthly Premium price: £18.99. Annual Premium price: £129.99.

Yearly cost if paid monthly: 18.99 x 12 = £227.88/year.

Yearly cost if paid annually: £129.99/year.

Saving by switching from monthly to annual: 227.88 - 129.99 = £97.89/year.

Saving by cancelling from annual Premium: you save £129.99/year (if you do not renew next year).

Cheapest real alternative

From competitor data the cheapest full alternatives are:

• Velorific - £4.99/month or £39/year
• NutraSafe - £3.99/month or £34.99/year

If you cancel an annual TrainingPeaks Premium at £129.99 and choose Velorific at £39/year, your annual saving = 129.99 - 39 = £90.99/year.

Key UK laws

Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 provide a 14-day cooling-off period for distance contracts. The Consumer Rights Act 2015 requires services to be performed with reasonable care and skill and prevents unfair contract terms.

Cooling-off and digital content

The 14-day cancellation right starts when the contract is concluded. If you asked TrainingPeaks to start the service immediately (for example to download or stream digital content) and you gave express consent and confirmed loss of the right, the right to cancel may be lost. See Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.

Auto-renewal and hard-to-cancel subscriptions

The Competition and Markets Authority monitors unclear auto-renewal terms and difficult cancellation paths. If you experience a hard-to-cancel subscription, raise a formal complaint with TrainingPeaks first, then contact Citizens Advice for escalation steps and consider chargeback or Section 75 where applicable.

Escalation steps

If TrainingPeaks does not resolve your complaint: 1) Complain to TrainingPeaks support; 2) Contact Citizens Advice for UK consumer help; 3) Use your card issuer for chargeback or Section 75 claim where eligible; 4) Report the issue to the CMA if a systemic unfair practice is suspected.

Check account access and data

Your account will revert to the free plan at the end of the billing period. All historical workout data is retained on the free account according to TrainingPeaks documentation; deletion is a separate process via account deletion requests.

Final billing and refunds

Cancellation stops future billing but does not automatically issue refunds. TrainingPeaks offers full refunds within 7 days of initial purchase or renewal for Athlete Edition and Coach Edition subscriptions; to request a refund submit a Help Center ticket: Refund Request.

Re-activation

You can re-subscribe at any time. If you re-subscribe before the end of the previous paid period you should not be double-charged; check billing statements and contact support in case of unexpected charges.

Use this checklist to cancel and protect your rights.

• Log in to your Athlete account and stop auto-renewal via Settings > Subscriptions and Payments.
• If purchase was via Apple, cancel through the Apple Subscriptions manager in your Apple ID settings.
• If purchase was via Google Play, cancel in Google Play Subscriptions.
• Take screenshots of cancellation confirmations or subscription screens.
• If you paid recently and want a refund, submit a Help Center ticket within 7 days and attach payment evidence.
• Keep copies of any promotional codes or partner discounts if you need to contest charges.
• If you have a dispute, collect invoices and email threads before escalating to Citizens Advice or your card issuer.
