1. Sign in to your Nitrado account at https://server.nitrado.net/en-GB.

4. Keep a screenshot of the confirmation and any email confirmation you receive.

Email cancellation

1. Compose a text email with subject: "Cancellation request - [your account/email] - [service ID]".
2. Include account name, service ID, creation date and the requested termination date in the message.
3. Send the email to [email protected].
4. Keep the sent message and any reply as proof. If no reply within 7 days, escalate with recorded post.

Post cancellation (UK recommended method for proof)

1. Write a clear termination letter with account details, service ID and requested termination date.
2. Send by Royal Mail Recorded Delivery or Signed For to: Nitrado, Hans-Bunte-Str. 13, 79108 Freiburg, Germany.
3. Keep the delivery receipt as proof of sending and the tracking confirmation.

Mobile app cancellation

1. Open the Nitrado mobile app and go to support or account settings.
2. Create a support ticket explaining you wish to cancel and quote your order ID.
3. If you purchased via iOS or Android in-app billing, include platform purchase receipts.
4. Keep ticket IDs and responses as proof.

Xbox / PC app purchases

1. If you purchased through the Nitrado Xbox/PC app, request refunds and subscription help via Microsoft Support as refunds for those purchases are handled by Microsoft.
2. Use Microsoft account subscription settings to check and cancel recurring payments if offered by Microsoft.
3. Keep Microsoft support tickets and confirmations as proof.

Cooling-off period (14 days)

Rule: Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 you have a 14 day right to withdraw from a distance contract. The withdrawal period starts on the day the contract is concluded. To exercise withdrawal notify marbis GmbH by a clear statement such as email or signed letter.

End of commitment or renewal

Rule: If you do not cancel before the initial term expiry the contract continues. After a renewal you can terminate at any time with not more than one month notice. Termination will take effect at the end of the billing period or after one month, whichever comes first.

Price increase

Rule: If Nitrado raises the price and the contract does not expressly allow the increase, you may be entitled to terminate without penalty under Consumer Rights Act 2015 where the term is unfair. Keep any official price increase notice from Nitrado.

Death of the subscriber

Rule: A death of the contract holder is a legitimate ground to request termination. You should contact Nitrado support and provide appropriate proof.

Required proof documents: death certificate, proof of authority to act for the estate (if requested), account identifiers.

Applicable law: Consumer Rights Act 2015 for contract assignment and termination questions; contact Nitrado support for confirmation.

Legitimate grounds accepted by Nitrado (refund exceptions)

Rule: Nitrado publishes refund exceptions. Refunds are only available within 14 days of the original purchase for servers. Short-term 3 day servers, active subscriptions, auto-renewals and modified services are not refundable. Account credit is refundable only if added within the last 60 days and returned to the original payment method.

Required proof documents: purchase receipt, order ID, proof of modification if disputing, bank statement for account credit.

Before you cancel: negotiate

Nitrado does not publish standard retention discounts or offers for customers who ask to keep a server. Research shows no publicly documented retention offers. To request a retention offer contact support by writing to [email protected] or using the support portal at https://server.nitrado.net/en-US/support. In your message include account name, service ID, current price and a clear request for a discount or plan change. Keep all replies and ticket IDs.

What cancelling saves you - price comparison and yearly saving

Example 1 - Minecraft Vanilla 2GB: Nitrado price £5.25 per month. Yearly cost calculation: 5.25 x 12 = £63.00 per year.

Alternative - GTX Gaming cheapest plan: £1.90 per month. Yearly cost calculation: 1.90 x 12 = £22.80 per year.

Yearly saving by switching from Nitrado Minecraft 2GB to GTX Gaming: 63.00 - 22.80 = £40.20 per year.

Example 2 - ARK typical 30 day at Nitrado: £17.69 per month. Yearly cost calculation: 17.69 x 12 = £212.28 per year.

Alternative - VM6 Networks VPS plan: £6.00 per month. Yearly cost calculation: 6.00 x 12 = £72.00 per year.

Access and data

Your server typically remains accessible until the end of the prepaid period. Nitrado states they do not normally refund unused prepaid time. Before cancellation export world saves, configuration files and plugin lists. Do not rely on online backups alone.

Final billing and refunds

If you requested a refund within the 14 day purchase window, expect processing according to Nitrado refund rules. Account credit is refundable only if it was added within the last 60 days and will be returned to the original payment method. Auto-renewal charges are not eligible for refund as published by Nitrado.

Re-activation and porting

If you plan to re-activate later, export saves and keep local backups. To move to another host collect server configuration and mod lists. Document versions and installed mods to ensure a compatible import at the new host.
