Email

1. Open your email account and compose to [email protected].
2. Subject: "Cancellation of membership - [Your Full Name] - [Membership Number]".
3. Include membership number, date of birth, last 4 digits of card, and requested cancellation date. Attach any supporting documents if cancelling for medical or other legitimate reasons.
4. Send and keep the sent item; request an acknowledgement in the message.

Phone

1. Aston Gym does not publish a dedicated public cancellation phone line in the official terms. If you have a local centre phone number, call and follow up with a written confirmation by email or post.
2. After the call, send an email to [email protected] summarising the call and your cancellation request to create written proof.

Post (registered letter)

1. Write a signed letter with your full name, membership number, address, and the exact date you want cancellation to take effect.
2. Send the letter by Royal Mail Recorded Delivery or Special Delivery to: Aston Gym, Woodcock Street, B7 4BL Birmingham, United Kingdom.
3. Retain the proof of postage and the delivery receipt; allow 30 days notice after the date the gym receives the letter.

In-person

1. Visit the Woodcock Sports Centre or the membership desk. Hand a signed cancellation letter to Membership Admin or reception.
2. Ask for and retain a stamped copy or written acknowledgement showing the date received.
3. Cancellation becomes effective 30 days after the date of receipt unless you are within the 14 day cooling-off period.

Cooling-off (Change of mind within 14 days)

Rule: If you signed up online or off-premises, you have a statutory 14 day right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. If you used the membership during the 14 days, Aston Gym may charge a proportionate amount for use.

Required proof: Send a cancellation request by email to [email protected] or by post; keep the sent email or Royal Mail receipt. Cite the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.

Medical reasons

Rule: Members with a minimum term may cancel early for a medical condition if supported by a doctor s note or letter, as stated in Aston Gym terms.

Required proof: A medical certificate or letter from a GP or consultant stating the condition and recommended inability to use the facilities. Reference the Aston terms and the Consumer Rights Act 2015 for service quality obligations.

Leave of absence or termination of employment (staff and students)

Rule: Aston Gym allows early cancellation for a confirmed leave of absence from the University or termination of employment for staff members according to their published terms.

Moving abroad / change of residence

Price increase

Rule: If Aston Gym raises prices, check your contract for variation clauses. Unfair or unclear price change clauses may be challengeable under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Contact Aston Gym for a contract exit if the price increase is not permitted by your contract.

End of minimum commitment
