Moving - change of address
If you cannot reasonably use your club because you move a long distance, request cancellation with a proof of new address such as a signed tenancy agreement, utility bill or council tax letter. LivingWell's published Terms and Conditions do not list every accepted proof; supply official documents and keep copies. Applicable law: Consumer Rights Act 2015 for fairness of contract terms.
Price increase
If LivingWell raises your membership price mid-contract, you may have a contractual right to cancel if the terms set out a unilateral price increase and allow termination. Provide the written price increase notice you received and request termination and final billing. Applicable law: Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 and fairness rules under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Death of the subscriber
Send a copy of the death certificate and a request from the executor or next of kin to cancel the membership and stop direct debits. Keep copies of all documents and a postal or email delivery receipt.
Legitimate ground accepted by LivingWell (what to supply)
LivingWell's publicly available material does not list a definitive list of all accepted legitimate reasons. Typical acceptable proofs are medical certificates, moving documents and death certificates. Supply the specific official document relevant to your reason and ask for written acceptance. Applicable law: Consumer Rights Act 2015.
End of commitment / minimum term
If you are at the end of a minimum term, you must provide explicit notice as required by your contract. If your contract renews monthly after the minimum term, a 30 day notice period applies for monthly-pay memberships. Check your joining paperwork for any minimum term clause. Applicable law: Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Cooling-off period (14 day refund right)
For contracts concluded at a distance (online, by phone or mail) you have a 14 day cooling-off period under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. The cooling-off starts the day after you enter the contract. If you asked LivingWell to start the service within the 14 days they can charge for the part of the service already provided. If digital content is downloaded or streamed with your express consent, the right to cancel can be lost. See Which - Consumer Contracts Regulations for details.
