Cancel Koala Inspector the easy way

Purpose

Chrome extension (recommended)

1. Open Google Chrome where Koala Inspector extension is installed.
2. Click the Koala Inspector icon and open the extension popup.
3. Go to the 'My Subscription' screen inside the extension.
4. Find the Premium plan line and select 'Cancel'.
5. Confirm cancellation in the extension dialog.
6. Keep a screenshot of the 'Subscription cancelled' or confirmation screen for your records.

Email cancellation

1. Compose an email to [email protected] explaining you want to cancel the Premium subscription and include your account email and last 4 digits of the payment used where practical.
2. If the charge was a mistake, also copy [email protected] per published guidance.
3. Request written confirmation and keep the sent email and any reply as proof.

Paddle billing disputes

1. Find your Paddle receipt or subscription ID in your email receipts from Paddle.
2. Email [email protected] with the Paddle transaction ID and explain you want cancellation or refund due to an incorrect charge.
3. Follow any instructions from Paddle in receipts; keep all correspondence.

Postal cancellation

1. Koala Inspector does not publish a phone cancellation line. Use the extension or email for reliable proof of cancellation.

Cooling-off (14 days and renewal cooling-off)

UK law provides a 14 day cooling-off right for distance contracts under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. The Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 introduces both initial and renewal cooling-off rights for subscription contracts. If you cancel within the applicable cooling-off window and you paid for the subscription online, you are entitled to a refund subject to any lawful deduction for services already supplied. To exercise this right, send a cancellation request and keep proof of submission. Cite the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 when asserting renewal cooling-off rights. Price increase

If Koala Inspector increases price for renewing customers, UK consumer law under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Digital Markets 2024 protections allow cancellation when the change materially affects the contract. Required proof: the price increase notice you received (email or in-extension notification) and your subscription record. Koala Inspector has not published a separate policy listing tolerated price increase notice periods; retain the notice as evidence.

Moving / change of circumstances

Moving abroad or change in business needs is not an automatic ground for a statutory refund unless it falls under a cooling-off or contractual term that permits it. Required proof: supporting documentation such as change of address confirmation if the supplier accepts this reason. Koala Inspector does not publish a specific moving policy; include account details and ask support for a manual cancellation.

Death of subscriber

Death of the account holder can justify termination. Required proof: death certificate and proof of authority over the estate. Koala Inspector has not published a public procedure for death cases. Legitimate ground (service not provided or billed by mistake)

If you were billed by mistake or the service was not provided, Koala Inspector directs you to email support for assistance. Required proof: receipts, transaction IDs, screenshots of the problem. Research note: billing mistakes are handled by emailing [email protected] per company guidance.

End of commitment

Koala Inspector runs month-to-month billing through Paddle. There is no minimum contract length and cancellation ends future obligations immediately. No specific article beyond the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 applies to minimum commitment here.

Before you cancel - how to negotiate

Koala Inspector does not publish public retention offers or downgrade promotions. To request a retention offer, email [email protected] with your account email and ask to downgrade to the Free plan or request a partial refund citing your reason. Sample request text: "Please cancel my Premium subscription or offer a downgrade to Free. My account email is [your email]. I want written confirmation." Keep any written reply as proof.

What cancelling saves you

Premium costs £22 per month or £264 per year (calculation: £22 x 12 = £264). If you cancel Premium and buy the cheapest competitor listed, Protect My Pet at £6.99 per month (£6.99 x 12 = £83.88), your annual saving would be £264 - £83.88 = £180.12 per year. ManyPets at £8.55 per month costs £102.60 per year. Real Vets membership listed at £16.50 monthly costs £198.00 per year. Token pack one-time purchases include: 10 tokens £3.99, 25 tokens £6.99, 100 tokens £11.99. Use the Free plan if you only need 15 tokens per month and basic features.

Relevant UK law

What is not allowed

Under Consumer Rights Act 2015 and CMA guidance, traders must not force cancellation via hidden or difficult channels only, charge disproportionate penalties, or impose unfair notice periods. Koala Inspector publishes an in-extension cancellation route which aligns with online cancellation requirements.

Access and features

After cancellation you retain Premium features until the end of your current paid billing period. After that you move to the Free plan which provides 15 tokens per month, basic shop structure insights, favorites and inspection history that remain in the extension.

Tokens and data

One-time token packs never expire and stack on top of your monthly allocation. Your favorites and inspection history remain in the extension after cancellation. The free allocation resets monthly to 15 tokens on the free-forever plan.

Final billing and refunds

Cancelling does not automatically issue a refund. Payments are processed by Paddle and billing is month-to-month. Refunds are available where required by law or in case of mistaken billing. Re-activation

To reactivate Premium, open the extension and subscribe again via the upgrade flow. Token packs you previously bought remain available after reactivation because they do not expire.
