Cooling-off period (14 days)
Right: You have a 14-day cooling-off period starting from the day the contract is entered into. If you cancel within 14 days and no claim has been made, ManyPets refunds all premiums paid. Refund time: 5-10 working days. Evidence required: policy number and proof of identity. Cancellation at renewal or cancelling auto-renewal
Rule: To prevent automatic renewal you must inform ManyPets you do not wish to renew. For cancelling auto-renewal ManyPets requires action within 28 days of the renewal invite or during the 14-day cooling-off period. Evidence required: renewal invite date and policy number. Applicable law: Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
Death of the subscriber or the pet
Rule: If the pet dies, ManyPets allows cancellation. If a claim has been made, the policy terms state no premium refund will be issued. Evidence required: veterinary death certificate or official documentation confirming death. Applicable law: Consumer Rights Act 2015 for service performance obligations.
Moving abroad
Rule: Moving abroad may justify cancellation if cover is no longer valid. Evidence required: new address or immigration documentation. Applicable law: Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
Price increase
Rule: If ManyPets increases the price at renewal and you do not accept the new price, you may cancel before renewal. Evidence required: renewal letter or invite showing the price increase. Applicable law: Consumer Rights Act 2015 and CMA guidance on automatic renewal transparency.
Legitimate grounds accepted by ManyPets
From research ManyPets explicitly notes cancellation exceptions such as pet death, and lost or stolen pets never recovered. Evidence required: death certificate, lost pet police or microchip evidence. Applicable law: Financial Services (Distance Marketing) Regulations 2004.
