3. Keep the sent email as proof and request a written reply confirming cancellation and refund timetable.

Post

1. Write a signed letter including your full name, membership or order number, address and the statement: "I hereby cancel my membership/order effective immediately."
2. Send by registered post to RSPB, The Lodge, SG19 2DL Sandy, United Kingdom and retain the registered post receipt.
3. Allow for postal transit and then 5-14 days processing after RSPB receives the letter. Request written confirmation by email or post.

Cooling-off right (change of mind)

If your purchase was made online or off-premises you have a 14 day cooling-off right starting the day after the first supply of goods. Notify RSPB with a clear statement cancelling the contract. Use their online cancellations form or email [email protected]. Refunds are processed as quickly as possible; allow up to 14 days for the credit to reach your account.

Price increase

If RSPB changes membership fees during an existing paid period, you have the right under consumer law to cancel a renewal where a renewal cooling-off notice applies. RSPB must provide the renewal cooling-off notice stating refund entitlements. If you are being charged a higher amount at renewal without clear prior notice, raise a complaint to Customer Care and cite the renewal cooling-off rights.

Moving house

Moving address alone is not an automatic legal ground to cancel membership. To cancel because you cannot access benefits tied to a location, send a clear cancellation statement and supporting evidence such as a new address document. RSPB does not publish a specific mandatory list of documents for moving; provide proof such as a Council Tax bill or recent utility bill to speed handling.

Death of the subscriber

If the subscriber has died, request cancellation by contacting Customer Care by phone or email and attach a copy of the death certificate. Legitimate grounds and exceptions

RSPB accepts returns and cancellations under a 'no-quibble return policy' for many shop items within 90 days.
