Cooling-off (change of mind within 14 days)

If you bought at a distance you have a 14 day cooling-off period under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. The 14 day period starts from delivery for goods. AO states customers can return products within 14 days of delivery for a refund. Item unused within 30 days

AO policy states that if an item is unused and returned within 30 days of delivery a full refund will be issued, including the cost of delivery. If the item was used beyond unpacking and inspection AO may reduce the refund to reflect diminished value, and AO may deduct up to 50% for used or installed items.

Moving house

AO does not publish a specific public cancellation policy for moving. If you need to cancel for moving, contact AO by phone or email and provide proof of address change such as a signed tenancy agreement or completion statement. Your right to cancel remains governed by the Consumer Contracts Regulations when the purchase was a distance contract.

Price increase

Legitimate grounds accepted by AO

Before you cancel: ask for retention offers

Research did not report specific retention discounts published by AO.
