3. Save or screenshot the confirmation page and expect an end of contract notice in writing within 24 hours for online notifications.

iOS

1. If you subscribed via Apple App Store open Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions and cancel the Elephant subscription there.
2. Open the Elephant app, revoke location permissions in iOS Settings or delete the app.
3. If you rely only on app deletion, Elephant's cancellation safeguard cuts off data collection automatically within 72 hours if permissions remain active.
4. Keep Apple subscription receipt as proof.

Android

1. If you subscribed via Google Play open Play Store > Menu > Subscriptions and cancel the subscription.
2. Remove the app and revoke device permissions in Android settings.
3. Retain the Google Play subscription confirmation as proof.

Phone

1. Call Elephant and clearly state your full name, policy or account number and that you wish to cancel.
2. Ask the agent for an end of contract notice and an estimated date when data collection will stop.
3. Record the date and the name of the agent; request a written confirmation by email.

Email

1. Send a clear statement of intent to cancel (for example: "I hereby cancel my Elephant subscription/account for policy X, effective today [date]").
2. Keep the sent message and any reply; the reply is your written proof.

Post

1. Send a signed registered letter to: Elephant, 107-111 Waterloo Road, SE1 8UL London, United Kingdom.
2. Include your full name, account or policy reference and the date you want the cancellation to take effect.

Moving address

If you move to an address where the policy or service no longer applies you can request termination. Provide proof of new address such as a tenancy agreement or utility bill dated within the last 3 months. Applicable law: Consumer Rights Act 2015 for service performance and contract terms.

Price increase

If Elephant raises the price on renewal and that change was not clearly accepted when you subscribed you may treat the increase as a reason to cancel. Send a clear statement of cancellation citing the price increase and retain the end of contract notice. Death of subscriber

Next of kin or executor may cancel a policy by sending a death certificate and a request to cancel the contract. Provide the death certificate and proof of identity for the requester. Applicable law: Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Legitimate ground

Elephant has not publicly disclosed a fixed list of legitimate grounds it accepts for early termination. Typical legitimate grounds under UK consumer law include substantial breach of contract or failure to perform services with reasonable care and skill. End of commitment

If you subscribed for a fixed term you may cancel at the end of that term without penalty. Notify Elephant in writing before renewal if you do not want automatic renewal. Legal requirement: end of contract notice must be provided by the trader within 24 hours for online notifications or within 3 working days for other notification methods.

Cooling-off (change of mind)

For contracts concluded online or off-premises you have a 14 day cooling-off right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. To exercise it send a clear statement to the trader. There is no penalty for cancelling under this right. If you gave express consent to immediate performance of digital content the trader may not owe a refund for consumed digital content. Key UK consumer laws

Contracts for services are protected by the Consumer Rights Act 2015 which requires services to be performed with reasonable care and skill. What to do if Elephant refuses

First submit a formal complaint to Elephant in writing and keep proof. If unresolved escalate to Citizens Advice for guidance: Cancelling a service you've arranged. For financial products contact the Financial Ombudsman Service where applicable. For card payments you may consider a Section 75 claim or chargeback via your card issuer for qualifying payments. Confirm access and final billing

Save the end of contract notice and any confirmation email. Check your bank or card statement for a final charge and request a refund if you overpaid. If you cancelled within a statutory cooling-off period ask for a refund; the trader must refund within a reasonable period.

Data and app permissions

Revoke location and background permissions in your device settings and delete the app. If permissions are not revoked Elephant's safeguard system will cut off data collection automatically within 72 hours, but revoking immediately prevents further collection. Re-activation

If you want to re-subscribe later contact Elephant for new quotes. Keep your account and policy references to speed up the process.

Follow this checklist to cancel Elephant and protect yourself:
