Everybody's public terms do not publish a specific automatic right to cancel for relocation that removes access to centres. If you cannot reasonably use facilities because of a move, send written notice to [email protected] with proof of new address (utility bill or tenancy agreement). Everybody's response is governed by contract terms; if the contract contains a non-transferable requirement, the business may require payment for the remaining contracted period. Applicable law: Consumer Rights Act 2015 applies to unfair contract terms.
If Everybody raises membership prices mid-contract, check your contract for a contractual right to cancel. If there is no contractual right and the increase is permitted by terms, you may have the right to cancel if your contract allowed price variation as a unilateral change; any disproportionate penalty may be challenged under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Provide the written price increase notice from Everybody as evidence when cancelling.
On death, immediate termination may be possible. Provide a copy of the death certificate and proof of identity of the person requesting cancellation or estate administrator. Contact Everybody by email with the documents and request immediate termination. Applicable law: Consumer Rights Act 2015 supports remedies when a contract cannot be performed due to death; supply death certificate as proof.
Everybody Fit states that exceptions to the no-refund policy may be made for medical reasons at the sole discretion of Everybody Fit LTD. To request cancellation for medical reasons send written notice to [email protected] with a dated letter from a registered medical practitioner describing the restriction and recommended end date. Applicable law: Consumer Rights Act 2015 - services must be carried out with reasonable care and skill.
For Everybody Health & Leisure direct debit memberships a minimum of 12 direct debit collections is required. After the 12th collection, membership continues on a rolling monthly basis. To end membership after the minimum term send at least 10 days prior written notice to [email protected] so cancellation expires when the 12th direct debit collection has been made. Applicable law: refer to Everybody membership terms and conditions and Consumer Contracts Regulations where relevant.
If you signed up online or away from premises you have a 14-day cooling-off period under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. The cooling-off period starts the day after the contract is formed. If you cancel within 14 days you are entitled to a refund unless you requested services to start during the 14 days; if services were provided during cooling-off you can expect to be charged for those services. To cancel use email [email protected] and state you are exercising your 14-day cooling-off right. Applicable law: Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
Retention and suspension options reported by Everybody include short-term suspension and fee concessions for temporary breaks. Everybody Health & Leisure allows suspensions for a maximum of 3 months at a time with a £5 direct debit charge applied each suspended month; suspensions are requested via [email protected]. Everybody does not publish generic discounts for leaving members. To negotiate, email [email protected] with your request and propose alternatives such as a pause or downgrade. Example email line: "I request a membership suspension or alternative plan because [reason]. Please confirm any retention offer in writing and provide the expiry date of the offer." Keep written confirmation.
Calculate annual cost and savings by using published prices.
Standard Membership: from £41.50 per month. Annual cost: £41.50 x 12 = £498.00 per year.
Premium Membership: from £59.99 per month. Annual cost: £59.99 x 12 = £719.88 per year.
Family Membership (12-month direct debit): £94.99 per month. Annual cost: £94.99 x 12 = £1,139.88 per year.
Cheapest widely known alternative (example): The Gym Group often advertises memberships from £12.99 per month. Annual cost: £12.99 x 12 = £155.88 per year. Switching from a Standard membership at £498.00 to The Gym Group at £155.88 saves £498.00 - £155.88 = £342.12 per year. Note: competitor pricing is subject to the competitor's public offers and availability.
In the United Kingdom your rights are primarily under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (services must be carried out with reasonable care and skill and unfair terms may be unenforceable) and the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 (14-day cooling-off period for many online or off-premises contracts). Citizens Advice provides guidance on cancelling services: Citizens Advice - cancelling a service.
The Competition and Markets Authority treats hard-to-cancel subscriptions and unclear auto-renewal terms as potential unfair practices. If Everybody makes cancellation difficult or hides notice periods, you may have grounds to complain to Citizens Advice and to cite CMA guidance when escalating.
1. Complain in writing to Everybody and retain copies of correspondence. 2. If unresolved, seek advice from Citizens Advice and request help with dispute resolution. 3. If you paid by credit card and the purchase is a qualifying card transaction, consider Section 75 or a chargeback via your card issuer. 4. If an industry ombudsman covers the service type, use that route. Keep all evidence including confirmation emails and bank statements.
Keep access until your termination date. Everybody Fit monthly members retain full membership use until the termination date. Everybody Health & Leisure direct debit memberships will continue until the 12th direct debit collection if within the minimum term. Check your member account and calendar for termination dates.
Everybody advises cancelling your Direct Debit at your bank or via online/telephone banking after providing written notice to Everybody. Cancel the Direct Debit only after you have a written confirmation from Everybody that your membership will end on the specified date. Keep bank statements showing the last authorised collection.
Ask Everybody for written confirmation about any retained personal data and how to delete or export it. If you want to re-join later, re-activation terms will depend on current offers; annual passes expire one year from the original start date and are not suspended.
