EWA is a language learning app published by LITHIUM LAB PTE LTD. It offers a free tier with in-app purchases and multiple premium subscription options sold via the EWA website, Apple App Store and Google Play.

Who uses EWA

EWA targets learners of English, Spanish, French, German and Italian and reports 3.5 million active monthly users. The app provides vocabulary, readings and short lessons with audio and text exercises.

How EWA is sold

Subscriptions are available through the EWA website (appewa.com) and through Apple ID or Google Play purchases. Payments made through app stores are managed by those stores for cancellation and refunds.

Cancel via Website (appewa.com)

1. Go to https://appewa.com and log in to your account.
2. Open Profile or Account settings and select Subscription management.
3. Click Cancel subscription and follow on-screen steps until you receive confirmation.
4. Keep the confirmation email or take a screenshot of the confirmation page as proof.

Cancel via iOS (Apple ID)

1. Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad and tap your name.
2. Tap Subscriptions, find the EWA subscription and tap Cancel Subscription.
3. Apple provides the subscription record and cancellation time in your purchase history; keep a screenshot or email receipt from Apple.
4. If Apple processed the purchase, you must contact Apple for refund requests; use Apple Support as needed.

Cancel via Android (Google Play)

1. Open the Google Play app, tap the profile icon, and select Payments and subscriptions then Subscriptions.
2. Find EWA and tap Cancel subscription; follow prompts.
3. Keep the Google Play receipt or cancellation screen as proof.
4. For refunds, request via Google Play Help when eligible.

Cancel by Email

1. Send an email to [email protected] with your account email, purchase date and a clear statement: "Please cancel my EWA subscription for account [your email]".
2. Keep the sent email and any reply. If you do not get a reply, escalate using your payment provider.

Cancel by Post

1. Write a signed cancellation letter with your name, account email and date of request and send by registered post to: EWA, Old Gloucester Street, WC1N 3AX London, United Kingdom.
2. Keep proof of postage and delivery confirmation.
3. Consider requesting a return receipt to prove the date of notification.

Moving abroad (change of residence)

Rule - If you move and the service cannot be provided in your new jurisdiction, you may ask for cancellation. Legitimate grounds (service not provided or defective)

Rule - If the service is defective, unavailable or does not perform as stated you may cancel and request a refund. Proof required - screenshots, logs or correspondence showing missing features or defects. Applicable law - Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024.

End of commitment

Rule - If a fixed commitment term ends you may cancel before the next renewal. Proof required - account subscription dates and renewal notice. Applicable law - check renewal notice obligations under the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024.

Cooling-off period

Rule - You have a 14-day statutory right to cancel most online service contracts under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. For digital content, once you consent to immediate performance the right may be lost unless EWA offered a refund policy. Proof required - original purchase date or confirmation email.
