Web - cancel in your account

1. Open the Motion web app and sign in with your account credentials.
2. Go to Settings then Billing or Subscriptions.
3. Choose the subscription you want to cancel and select Cancel subscription.
4. Confirm cancellation on-screen. Record the confirmation and save any confirmation email you receive.

Motion states you may cancel your Motion+ or MotionScore subscription at any time through account settings and that access remains until the end of the current paid billing period. See Motion terms for details: Motion terms.

iOS - cancel via App Store

1. Open the App Store on the iPhone signed in to the Apple ID used to subscribe.
2. Tap your profile, then Subscriptions, then find Motion or MotionScore.
3. Tap Cancel Subscription and follow prompts. Keep the App Store confirmation email.

Android - cancel via Google Play

1. Open Google Play on the device signed into the subscribing Google account.
2. Menu then Subscriptions, select Motion and Cancel subscription.
3. Keep the Google Play email confirmation as proof.

Email

1. If you cannot access your account, write to Motion support (support email not publicly disclosed) with your full account email, subscription ID, and the clear statement "Cancel my Motion subscription."
2. Request a written confirmation and keep all replies. If Motion does not reply, escalate by registered post.

Post (registered letter)

1. Send a signed letter to: Motion, Hollins Road, BB3 0BG Darwen, United Kingdom. Include account email, subscription ID, and the statement "I cancel my Motion subscription."
2. Send by registered post and keep the tracking and delivery receipt as proof.

Moving abroad or relocating

If you move and your subscription is no longer needed, you can cancel by the standard account route. Required proof documents: copy of new address or utility bill if Motion requests verification. Legal basis: Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 do not specifically require proof for ordinary cancellations.

Price increase

If Motion increases the subscription price during a fixed term, you may have specific rights depending on the contract. Required proof documents: Motion notification of price increase and your subscription invoice. Applicable law: Consumer Rights Act 2015 regarding unfair contract terms and the CMA guidance on auto-renewals. If a price increase is part of an unfair term, you can challenge it under Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Death of subscriber

Motion accepts contract termination requests where a subscriber has died. Required proof documents: death certificate and the account holder's email or proof of relationship. Contact Motion support and send proof by email or post.

Legitimate ground - service not provided with reasonable care and skill

If Motion fails to perform the service with reasonable care and skill, you can cancel and claim remedies under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Required proof documents: log of failures, support tickets, and examples demonstrating the breach. Applicable law: Consumer Rights Act 2015.

End of commitment

When a paid billing period ends, subscriptions that are not cancelled will auto-renew. Required proof documents: your subscription invoice and cancellation confirmation if you cancelled before renewal. Cooling-off period (14 days)

For online sales, you have a 14-day cooling-off right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. If you request immediate access to digital content and expressly consent to waive the right, you may lose the right to a refund. Motion+ offers a 14-day refund window for purchases, while MotionScore monthly fees are non-refundable once the subscription and access start. Before you cancel: how to negotiate with Motion

Motion's public documentation does not list standard retention discounts. There are no published guaranteed offers for downgrades or retention in the public terms. To ask for a retention offer, contact Motion support from the account email and request a downgrade, pause, or promotional rate. Provide your account ID, current plan, and a clear target price. If Motion offers a customised enterprise or promotional price, get it in writing before you accept.

Access and final billing

After you cancel, Motion will retain your access until the end of the current paid billing period. There is no cancellation fee published. Check your final invoice for any prorated refunds if applicable; Motion states monthly subscription fees for some products are non-refundable once used.

Data export and account deletion

Export your calendar, tasks and documents before the subscription expires. Export options are available in the app settings. If you want full account deletion, request deletion in writing and keep the confirmation email. Back up any data you need because deletion may be irreversible.

Re-activation

You can re-subscribe at any time by signing in and choosing a plan. If you had an annual pre-paid subscription and cancelled mid-term, access remains until the end of that annual period; reactivation will require a new subscription purchase.
