Cancel Nova the easy way

Overview

Nova is a multi-product company that offers professional digital services including education platforms (PassNova), an AI chatbot, money dashboard and specialty publications. Some branded Nova products charge subscriptions and in-app purchases.

Products are used by learners, professionals and organisations; corporate customers include training teams and enterprises. The company also serves the semiconductor manufacturing industry corporate audience under the broader Nova brand family.

Where Nova operates

Services are offered to UK customers via local sites and apps; some product legal entities operate from the United Kingdom for sales and subscriptions.

Web - cancel via account settings

1. Go to your Nova account and sign in.
2. Open Subscriptions or Billing in account settings.
3. Find the active subscription and click Cancel subscription.
4. Follow on-screen prompts to confirm cancellation and keep a screenshot of the confirmation page.
5. Expect an email confirmation; save it as proof.

iOS - cancel through Apple

1. Open the App Store on your iPhone or iPad and tap your profile picture.
2. Tap Subscriptions and select the Nova subscription.
3. Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm.
4. Keep the App Store confirmation email or take a screenshot.

Android - cancel through Google Play

1. Open Google Play Store and tap your profile icon.
2. Tap Payments and subscriptions then Subscriptions.
3. Select Nova and tap Cancel subscription and confirm.
4. Save the confirmation email or screenshot from Google Play.

Email - cancel by sending a message

1. Compose an email to [email protected] from the email linked to your Nova account.
2. Subject: Cancel subscription - include full name, account email, subscription name and last 4 digits of payment card.
3. Send and keep your sent item as proof.
4. Wait up to 48 hours for a reply; escalate if no reply after 7 days.

Post - cancel by registered letter

1. Write a signed cancellation letter with your full name, account email, subscription name and request immediate cancellation.
2. Send by recorded or signed-for post to Nova, 137 Euston Road, NW1 2AA London.
3. Keep the proof of postage and any returned receipt.

Moving

If you move and your payment method or residency changes, cancel in your account settings. Provide proof of new address when requested such as a council tax bill or utility bill. Applicable law: Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.

Price increase

If Nova increases the price and you object, you may cancel before the next billing date. Provide the notification you received from Nova as proof. Applicable law: Consumer Rights Act 2015 and protections under the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 - see legislation.

Death of subscriber

To close an account after the subscriber dies, send a copy of the death certificate and proof of your authority to act. Nova accepts documentary proof to close accounts. Applicable law: Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.

Legitimate ground - faulty digital content or technical access problems

For digital content that is faulty or if a technical issue prevents access, Nova accepts a report to support via [email protected]. Provide screenshots, timestamps and account details. If the problem is not resolved, statutory remedies apply under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

End of commitment

If your plan had a fixed term, cancellation takes effect at the end of the committed term. If no fixed term exists, cancel at any time in account settings. Provide your account details when requested. Applicable law: Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.

Cooling-off period (14 days)

For contracts concluded online or off-premises, a 14-day cooling-off period applies starting the day after the contract is entered into. If you cancel during this period you must notify Nova with a clear statement. If you agreed to immediate supply of digital content and the content was downloaded, you may have waived the right to a refund - you must have given express consent and acknowledged loss of the right to cancel. Before you cancel - negotiate

Research did not surface any standard retention discounts publicly offered by Nova. To request a retention offer, send an email to [email protected] from the account email and ask for a downgrade, temporary pause or discount. Provide subscription name, renewal date and a clear request. Keep any written reply as proof.

Relevant UK law and regulator

Key rules are the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 (14-day cooling-off period), the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (services must be provided with reasonable care and skill) and protections under the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024. Cooling-off and digital content exception

Nova states cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and you retain access until that time. There is no refund for the unused portion of a pre-paid subscription.

Data and account re-activation

Final billing and receipts

Save your final invoice and the cancellation confirmation email. If a technical issue prevented access before cancellation, contact [email protected] with evidence to request a remedy.
