Overview

Placeit is a subscription service for design templates, mockups, logos, videos and social media content. It offers a library of templates that users can customise in the browser and download.

Placeit targets web marketers, marketing agencies, e-commerce brands, startups, small to mid-sized teams and freelancers who need on-demand design assets without hiring a designer.

Company facts

Web - cancel inside Placeit account

1. Open https://placeit.net/ and sign in to your account.
2. Click your avatar or account name and choose "Account" or "Subscription".
3. Locate the active subscription and select "Cancel subscription".
4. Confirm cancellation when prompted. You will receive on-screen confirmation and an email confirming cancellation if your account settings allow it.
5. After cancellation you keep access until the end of the paid billing period; no automatic refund is issued for remaining days in that period.

iOS - cancel if billed via Apple

1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
2. Tap your name > Subscriptions.
3. Find Placeit and tap "Cancel Subscription".
4. Follow Apple prompts; Apple handles refunds and billing changes for App Store purchases.

Android - cancel if billed via Google Play

1. Open Google Play Store app.
2. Tap profile icon > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions.
3. Select Placeit and tap "Cancel subscription".
4. Follow Google prompts; Google processes refunds and billing changes for Play Store purchases.

Email or support ticket

1. Locate your Placeit account email and send a cancellation request to their support channel via the website help form.
2. Keep the support ticket number and any automatic reply as proof.
3. Placeit assesses refunds and cancellations according to its terms; email confirmation is not guaranteed for all requests.

Post (registered letter)

1. Write a clear statement that you wish to cancel your Placeit subscription and include your account email and subscription ID.
2. Send the letter by registered post to: Placeit, Crown Way, CF14 3UZ Cardiff, United Kingdom.
3. Keep the proof of delivery receipt. Cancellation takes effect when Placeit receives your notification.

Moving or change of residence

Placeit is an online service. A move within the UK does not automatically justify early termination with refund. To cancel, follow the standard account cancellation steps and provide proof of new billing restrictions only if the move prevents access due to legal limitations. Evidence required: copy of new billing address or official document showing moved address.

Price increase

If Placeit increases subscription fees and that increase materially affects your contract, you can cancel and request a refund for unused whole months under the Consumer Contracts Regulations and the trader's terms. Death of subscriber

If the account holder dies, the estate or next of kin should contact Placeit support with a death certificate and proof of authority to act on the estate. Placeit will assess the request against its terms. Evidence required: death certificate, proof of account ownership.

Legitimate ground accepted by Placeit

Placeit will not give refunds for change of mind, mistaken purchase, lack of skill to use templates, removal of templates, or cancelling before the end of the billing period, except where required by law. End of commitment

If you have met the one month minimum commitment, you can cancel at any time afterwards. Evidence required: account activity showing the first month elapsed.

Cooling-off rights (14 days)

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 you have a 14-day cooling-off right for online purchases of services. For digital content, if download or streaming starts with your express consent, the right to a full refund may be lost. Evidence required: order date, proof of whether digital content was downloaded or used. Before you cancel - negotiate

Placeit does not have widely reported retention offers in public research. Users have reported receiving partial credits in exceptional cases, but there is no documented standard discount or free month as a retention rule. To ask for a retention offer: open a support ticket, state the reason for cancelling, and request a retention offer or partial credit. Keep the ticket number and any response.

Key UK consumer law

Your rights when cancelling online are protected by the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 and the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Digital content and cooling-off

If you start downloading or streaming digital content with your express consent during the 14-day period, the trader can charge for the time used and may deny a refund for content already accessed. Hard-to-cancel subscriptions and escalations

The Competition and Markets Authority treats unclear auto-renewals and hard-to-cancel subscriptions as possible unfair practices. If Placeit refuses a lawful refund or makes cancellation difficult, escalate: first complain to Placeit; then contact Citizens Advice and Trading Standards; for card payments contact your card issuer for chargeback or Section 75 for qualifying credit card payments.

Download your assets

Placeit advises users to download all customised products before cancellation because permanent storage is not guaranteed. Save copies of logos, mockups and videos to local storage immediately after cancelling.

Check final billing and receipts

After cancellation review your billing history for the last payment. Placeit does not generally offer refunds for unused days in the billing period. Keep invoices and the on-screen/email cancellation confirmation as proof.

Re-activation

You can reactivate an account by subscribing again through your account settings. Previously downloaded customised products should remain accessible but Placeit does not guarantee permanent storage after cancellation; re-download to be safe.
