Realms is the subscription product known as Minecraft Realms and Minecraft Realms Plus: a hosted private-server service that lets players run a persistent Minecraft world for friends. Realms exists in different editions: Java Edition Realms and Bedrock Edition Realms (Realms Plus for Bedrock).

Who uses Realms

Primary users are casual and social Minecraft players who want a hosted server without technical setup. Realms Plus adds a rotating catalog of Marketplace content and supports up to 11 simultaneous players for Bedrock Realms Plus.

Web / Microsoft account - detailed steps

1. Go to the Microsoft account page and sign in to the account that bought Realms (Java Edition subscriptions are handled via Microsoft accounts).
2. Open Services & subscriptions.
3. Find the Realms subscription and choose Manage > Cancel subscription or Turn off recurring billing.
4. Keep or copy any confirmation shown on screen. You will retain access until the end of the paid period.

iOS / Apple - detailed steps

1. On your iPhone or iPad open Settings and tap your name at the top.
2. Tap Subscriptions, select the Realms subscription and tap Cancel Subscription.
3. Apple will show a cancellation confirmation. Email receipts from Apple confirm the change.

Android / Google Play - detailed steps

1. Open Google Play Store app, tap your profile icon > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions.
2. Select the Realms subscription and tap Cancel subscription.
3. Google Play will confirm cancellation. Save the confirmation screenshot or email.

PlayStation - detailed steps

1. On PS5 go to Settings > Users and Accounts > Payment and Subscriptions > Game and App Services > Minecraft.
2. Select your Realms subscription and choose Turn Off Auto-Renew.
3. Keep the on-screen confirmation and any confirmation email from PlayStation.

Email / Support / Post - detailed steps

1. If you cannot cancel via the store, open the Minecraft Support portal and submit a ticket specifying account details and reason for cancellation.
2. For postal cancellation send a registered letter to Realms, Crown Way, CF14 3UZ Cardiff, United Kingdom, include account name, email and subscription ID. Keep proof of posting.
3. Mojang or the marketplace may take several days to respond. If you request a refund explain statutory rights or service failure grounds.

Cooling-off (changed your mind)

You have a 14 calendar day cooling-off right for distance contracts under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. If you cancel within 14 days and you have not asked the trader to start the digital service during the cooling-off period, you are entitled to a full refund.

Service started during cooling-off

Price increase

Before you cancel: negotiate

Realms does not publish a set list of retention offers. There are no public reports of standard discounts from Realms. To request a retention offer, contact the billing store (Microsoft, Apple, Google Play, PlayStation) or Minecraft Support and ask for a promotional extension, discounted renewal or an account credit. Final billing and receipts

Expect the final invoice to show the paid-through date. Realms subscriptions are generally non-refundable for unused time except where UK statutory rights apply or the provider caused service loss. If you cancelled within 14 days and did not request immediate service start, request a full refund.

Re-activation

You can re-subscribe using the same platform account. If you re-subscribe within 18 months your previously saved realm data may still be available; confirm with Minecraft Support.
