Cooling-off period (14 days)
If you signed up online or off-premises, you have a 14 day statutory cooling-off right under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. To use it, communicate your decision to cancel in a clear written statement (email or registered post). If you paid up front, you are entitled to a full refund unless you expressly asked for services to begin within the 14 days. Refund timing follows Citizens Advice guidance. Source: Citizens Advice.
End of commitment / Annual contract
After the cooling-off period expires, membership cancellation is governed by the contract. Research indicates Soho House requires written notice at least 3 months prior to the annual renewal date to terminate membership. You must provide written notice and meet the contractual notice period. Source: internal membership guidance and customer reports.
Price increase
If Soho House increases membership fees mid-contract, check your contract for terms. Consumer law requires services to be performed with reasonable skill under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. If a price rise is a significant unilateral change, you may rely on contractual change clauses or complain using the escalation routes below. Applicable law: Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Moving abroad or relocation
If you permanently move out of the area and cannot reasonably use the local House, prepare proof such as utility bills, tenancy agreement or airline tickets. Notify [email protected] in writing and request waiver of the notice period; acceptance is at Soho House discretion. Applicable law: Consumer Rights Act 2015 for quality of service.
Death of subscriber
In the event of the member's death, submit a copy of the death certificate and contact [email protected] to request account closure and any refund for unused paid services. The business will process this under normal refund rules and contractual terms.
Legitimate grounds accepted by Soho House
Research does not provide an exhaustive list of accepted legitimate grounds for early termination. Documentary proof such as medical certificates, relocation evidence or death certificate should be supplied where relevant. Applicable law: Consumer Rights Act 2015; Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 for distance agreements.
