Web (recommended)

1. Go to your Spokeo account page: https://www.spokeo.com/user/account.
2. Login with your email and password.
3. Scroll to the Manage Account section and click "Cancel".
4. If you do not see Cancel, click the Contact Form link in Manage Account and select "I would like to terminate my membership", then choose "Terminate Now" as instructed in Spokeo help: official cancellation help.
5. Save any on-screen confirmation and keep an eye on your email for a confirmation message.

Contact Form

1. Open Spokeo Help Center: How do I cancel.
2. Use the Contact Form; for the dropdown select "I would like to terminate my membership" and choose "Terminate Now".
3. Submit and wait for confirmation email.

Email

1. Compose an email to [email protected].
2. Include the account email, full name, date of birth (if in account), and a clear statement: "Please cancel my Spokeo membership and do not auto-renew."
3. Request a written confirmation to the same email address.

Post (registered letter)

1. Write a signed letter stating your full name, account email, date of birth (if used on the account) and an explicit cancellation instruction: "I hereby cancel my Spokeo membership and request confirmation."

3. Keep the proof of postage and the delivery receipt.

Phone

1. Spokeo does not publish a UK phone number for cancellations. The published routes are the account page and the Contact Form.
2. If you locate a phone number elsewhere, keep a recording or note of the date, time and agent name.

Cooling-off period (changed mind)

If you bought Spokeo online as a distance contract, you may have a 14-day cooling-off right under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. The 14 days starts when the contract is formed. If Spokeo did not provide required pre-contract cancellation information, the cooling-off period may be extended up to 12 months. Price increase

If Spokeo increases the price of a subscription, UK consumer protections prevent disproportionate contract terms. If the increase constitutes a unilateral change not permitted in terms, you can cancel without penalty; collect the price increase notice and billing showing the new amount as proof.

Death of the subscriber

For cancellation due to death, provide a copy of the death certificate and a written request from the estate executor to [email protected] or by registered post to the Cardiff address. Moving abroad

Spokeo does not publish a specific rule for relocation. If relocation means you want to terminate a distance contract, the 14-day cooling-off right applies when the contract was concluded online. For other cases, request cancellation via the Contact Form and provide proof of address change if the operator asks.

Legitimate grounds and required proof

Spokeo’s published help does not list specific accepted "legitimate grounds" beyond standard termination choices. Use the Contact Form and supply supporting documents for your reason: death certificate, proof of address, proof of unauthorised charges, or screenshots of price changes. The legal basis for cancellation claims in the UK includes the Consumer Rights Act 2015 for poor service and the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 for distance sales.

End of commitment

If you are on a fixed-length plan (quarterly or annual), check your account or terms for the expiry date. If a renewal term is automatic and you cancel before renewal, auto-renewal will stop. The Consumer Rights Act 2015 protects against unfair renewal terms.

Before you cancel: negotiate

Spokeo’s publicly available help pages do not list retention offers or specific discounts available at cancellation. The official guidance is to use the account Cancel button or Contact Form. If you want to request a retention offer, contact [email protected] and ask for a reduced rate or a pause; include your account email and the exact subscription name. There is no published promise that Spokeo will offer a discount or credit.

Example C - Standard monthly plan at £20 per month. Annual cost: 20 x 12 = £240 per year.

Cheapest listed competitor alternative: Reachbound at £12.99 per month. Annual cost: 12.99 x 12 = £155.88 per year.
