Web - cancel via the Tate site

1. Open Tate Members.
2. Find the contact or cancellation section and complete the online form with your membership number, full name and reason for cancellation.

1. If you locate a Tate phone number, call and request cancellation, provide membership details and ask for a written confirmation by email.

Email - shop and membership

1. For shop orders send an email to [email protected] with your order number and request cancellation as soon as possible.

Post - registered letter

1. Write a letter with full name, membership number and request to cancel. Sign and date it.

3. Keep the postal receipt and await a written reply which by law must be provided on a durable medium.

Moving abroad or relocation

If you move and cannot use Tate Modern membership because you leave the country, provide proof of change of address such as a utility bill, tenancy agreement or immigration document. Tate does not publish a standard relocation policy; use the Members contact channels to request a cancellation and attach proof.

Price increase

If Tate increases membership fees upon renewal Tate Members and Patrons may receive advance notice. If a price increase changes the core contract and you wish to cancel you must notify Tate; keep the price increase notice and your cancellation request. The 2024 Act requires an end of contract notice when a subscription ends after cancellation.

Death of the subscriber

End of commitment

If you bought a contract online or off-premises you usually have a 14 day cooling-off right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. Exceptions apply: digital content that is downloaded or streamed immediately and some exhibition or ticket purchases. Before cancelling: ask for alternatives or retention deals

No specific standard retention offers are published by Tate in the research sources. The public information lists membership benefits such as unlimited free entry for members and Patrons, and trial memberships for new members by Direct Debit. To ask for retention contact the Members support via Tate Members, explain your reason to cancel, and request options such as switching from monthly to annual or pausing membership.
