Cancel The Edge the easy way

Overview

The Edge Learning Center provides academic tutoring and test-preparation services for students aiming for top university admission and competitive standardized test results. Services include coaching, online resources and subscription-based content.

Who uses it

Students preparing for SAT, ACT, TOEFL and similar exams, and families seeking structured test-preparation support.

Core offerings

The Edge operates subscriptions for digital content and training packages. Pricing and product types include short magazine-style subscriptions, multi-month plans, and specialised training subscriptions.

Web Portal (Stripe) cancellation

1. Locate the Stripe billing portal link you received in an invoice email or in your account. If you cannot find it, contact support and request the billing portal link to be resent.
2. Open the billing portal, sign in if required, select the subscription and choose Cancel or Turn off auto-renewal.
3. Save or screenshot the cancellation confirmation page and keep the confirmation email from Stripe as proof.
4. Note that cancelling via Stripe stops future renewals but does not automatically issue refunds for past charges; request a refund from The Edge if eligible.

Cancel on iOS (Apple)

1. Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad.
2. Tap your name, then Subscriptions.
3. Select the Edge Hybrid or relevant Edge subscription and tap Cancel Subscription.
4. Keep the Apple confirmation on screen or wait for Apple to send a confirmation email. Deleting the app will not cancel the subscription.

Cancel on Android (Google Play)

1. Open the Google Play Store app.
2. Tap your profile icon, then Payments & Subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
3. Select the Edge subscription and tap Cancel Subscription.
4. Save the Play Store confirmation and email for your records. Deleting the app will not cancel the subscription.

Cancel by phone

1. Find the support phone number in your account or on official communications. The Edge did not publish a public phone number in the research dataset.
2. Call and state clearly you want to cancel the subscription; ask the agent to send written confirmation and the effective cancellation date.
3. If the agent refuses to confirm, follow up with an email or send a registered letter to the postal address.

Cancel by email or post

1. Write a clear cancellation message including: your full name, account email, subscription name, last 4 digits of the payment card if available, and the sentence 'I cancel my subscription effective immediately'.
2. Send the message to support via the email address on your account or post a signed letter by registered post to The Edge, Crown Way, CF14 3UZ Cardiff, United Kingdom.
3. Keep copies of the email, letter and Royal Mail proof of postage as evidence. If you receive no reply in 7 days, escalate using the steps in this guide.

Moving abroad or change of residence

Rule: If you cannot access services because you move location and the service is geographically restricted, request cancellation and a pro rata refund if applicable. Required proof: copy of new residence evidence such as a tenancy agreement or utility bill showing new address.

Applicable law: Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.

Price increase

Rule: If The Edge increases the subscription price during a fixed-term contract and you do not accept the increase, you may cancel without penalty from the date the increase takes effect. Required proof: copy of the communication from The Edge that shows the price increase and effective date.

Applicable law: Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 and Consumer Rights Act 2015 where contract fairness is at issue.

Death of subscriber

Rule: Representatives of a deceased subscriber may request contract termination and a refund of any unused paid period if statutory rights apply. Required proof: copy of the death certificate and proof of authority to act for the estate.

Applicable law: Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 where applicable and general contract law principles under Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Legitimate ground (technical failure or duplicate charge)

Rule: The Edge's web-purchases (Stripe) may be refunded where there was a duplicate purchase, charging after cancellation, or a technical issue preventing use. Required proof: screenshots of errors, receipts showing duplicate charges, or evidence of failed service access.

Applicable law: Consumer Rights Act 2015 and The Edge refund policy as published.

End of commitment (contract expiry)

Rule: If you are at the end of a minimum commitment term you may cancel without penalty by following the normal cancellation channels and giving any stated notice. Required proof: copy of your original contract or membership terms showing the end date.

Cooling-off period (14 days)

Rule: For online or off-premises contracts, you have a 14-day cooling-off period starting the day after the contract is made. If you cancel within this period you are entitled to a refund unless you explicitly asked for the service to start during the cooling-off period. Before you cancel: how to negotiate with The Edge

Access and account data

Check the cancellation confirmation for the effective date. Keep local copies of any content you legally downloaded before cancellation. If The Edge stores personal data, request an account export or deletion using the support channels if required.

Final billing and refunds

For purchases via Apple App Store or Google Play Store, refund decisions for those platform purchases are controlled by Apple or Google. For web purchases billed via Stripe, The Edge decides on refunds; refunds for web purchases must be requested within 14 days of the charge according to the research data and the company's refund policy.
