Cancel WOW the easy way

Overview

WOW is offered under the WideOpenWest legal entity and includes subscription services tied to digital content and connectivity. The company serves residential and business customers and operates subscription plans billed monthly or annually.

What subscribers get

Subscribers receive access to the service content for the duration of the active subscription tier. Some plans include special in-product bonuses and different billing cycles: monthly, 3-month, 6-month and 12-month options are available in the United Kingdom pricing list.

Company facts

Web cancellation

1. Sign in to your WOW account on the official site or app.
2. Go to Account or Subscriptions and select Cancel or Manage Subscription.
3. Follow on-screen prompts to confirm cancellation and keep screenshots of confirmation.
4. If no web cancel option appears, send a written request by post as described below.

iOS cancellation

1. Open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions.
2. Select the WOW subscription and tap Cancel Subscription.
3. Retain the Apple confirmation email or screenshot for proof of cancellation.

Android cancellation

1. Open Google Play, tap Menu, then Subscriptions.
2. Find the WOW subscription and tap Cancel.
3. Keep the Google Play confirmation email or screenshot as proof.

Phone cancellation

1. Locate the support number in your account or on official communications; if unknown, request the number via account support chat.
2. Call and state clearly you want to cancel your subscription. Ask for a cancellation reference number and the effective date of cancellation.
3. Write down the representative name, date and time, and confirmation number.

Email cancellation

1. Compose a clear message with account details, subscription ID and a plain statement of cancellation request.
2. Send the message and keep the sent item. If no reply within 14 days, follow up or use registered post.

Post (registered letter)

1. Write a dated letter including your full name, account email, subscription ID and the statement: "I cancel my subscription to WOW and request confirmation of the cancellation date and any refund due."
2. Send the letter by registered post to: WOW, 1 Blizzard Way, 92618 Irvine, United States.
3. Keep the registered post receipt and delivery proof; this provides the strongest evidence under UK distance selling rules.

Moving

If you are moving and the service cannot be provided at the new address, provide documentary proof of new address (utility bill, tenancy agreement) and a written cancellation request. The company must confirm whether service transfer is possible or allow termination where supply is impossible.

Price increase

If WOW increases your subscription price mid-contract and the terms allowed unilateral increases, you may cancel when the price change takes effect. If WOW fails to provide the service with reasonable care and skill, document the failures (dates, screenshots, speed tests, correspondence). Send a formal complaint and request termination for breach. Keep copies of all communications.

End of commitment

If you are at the end of a fixed term, send a cancellation statement before the renewal date. If the contract auto-renews, the company must provide clear renewal terms; cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period.

Cooling-off period (initial 14 days)

For distance contracts concluded online, you have a 14-day cooling-off period starting the day after the contract formation. If you cancel within this period you are entitled to a full refund, except where you expressly consented to start receiving digital content and waived the right to cancel for that content already accessed. If the service was provided during the cooling-off period with your express consent and acknowledgment, the trader may charge for the service provided up to cancellation.

Before you cancel - negotiate

WOW retention teams sometimes offer discounted months, temporary price reductions or bundled bonuses to keep subscribers. Research did not list specific guaranteed retention offers for WOW, so request these options explicitly when you contact support. Use these exact phrases when asking: "Please offer any retention discount or shorter-term reduced rate available for my account" and ask the agent to confirm the offer in writing.

1-Month subscription: 1 x £10.99 = £10.99 per month; yearly cost = £10.99 x 12 = £131.88 per year.
