Overview

ChatGPT Plus is the paid consumer subscription for ChatGPT that provides access to advanced reasoning models, expanded usage capacity and early access to new features. It is offered by OpenAI Group PBC under the ChatGPT brand.

Main benefits

Subscribers get access to higher-capacity models, expanded uploads and messages, projects and priority availability during peak times. The Plus plan is billed monthly in GBP with VAT added at checkout for UK customers.

How it compares to other plans

Plus sits between the free tier and higher-capacity plans such as Pro and Business: it adds advanced reasoning (GPT-5.6), larger message limits and early feature access while remaining a monthly consumer subscription.

Web (recommended)

1. Open chatgpt.com and log in to your account.
2. Click your profile icon at the bottom-left (desktop) or top-right (mobile web).
3. Choose Settings, then Billing.
4. Under Cancel plan select Cancel and confirm. You will receive on-screen confirmation.
5. Your access continues until the end of the paid period; cancellation is effective the day after your next billing date.

iOS (App Store)

1. Open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions.
2. Find ChatGPT or ChatGPT Plus in the subscription list.
3. Select Cancel Subscription and confirm with Apple ID.
4. Apple provides a subscription cancellation confirmation via email and in the Subscriptions screen.

Android (Google Play)

1. Open the Google Play Store app and tap your profile icon.
2. Tap Payments & subscriptions then Subscriptions.
3. Select ChatGPT or ChatGPT Plus and tap Cancel subscription.
4. Google Play shows the cancellation status in your account and may email a receipt.

Phone

1. ChatGPT Plus does not publish a phone cancellation line for consumers. The website and app-based routes are the supported methods; use those first.
2. If you cannot access the account, see the postal option or contact your payment provider for a charge dispute only after attempting the above.

Email / Support form

1. Use the help or support form on chatgpt.com to open a ticket if you cannot cancel via account settings.
2. Describe the issue, include account email and request cancellation. Keep ticket number or screenshot as proof.
3. If you request a refund, the help article indicates refunds are processed after approval in 5 to 10 business days.

Post (registered letter)

1. Draft a registered letter stating your account email, request to Cancel ChatGPT Plus and date of request.

Moving or relocating to an unsupported country

If you lose access because you relocate or travel to an unsupported country, OpenAI can cancel your subscription on your behalf according to the research. Price increase

Data and account re-activation

If you keep your account, your chat history and uploads remain subject to OpenAI policies. Deleting your account is permanent and will cancel the subscription; you will lose data and the action cannot be undone. Re-activating a paid subscription requires subscribing again through the website or app store.

Proof and receipts

Save on-screen cancellation confirmation, email confirmations from the App Store or Google Play, and registered post receipts when used. Retain payment records to support any refund or chargeback claims.
