  2. Go to Settings > Account & Billing.
  3. Locate the subscription and turn off auto-renewal or choose to cancel at renewal.
  4. Save changes and check for an email confirmation and a billing status update in Account & Billing.
  5. Keep a screenshot and the confirmation email as proof.

Email - request cancellation by email

  1. If you have an account manager, email them directly with your account name, portal ID and the requested cancellation date.
  2. If no account manager, use the in-account support contact form to open a ticket and request cancellation effective on your renewal date.
  3. Retain the support ticket number and any reply as proof.

  2. Send by recorded delivery to: HubSpot, 1 Ashley Road, WA14 2DT Altrincham, United Kingdom.

Phone - speak to your account manager or HubSpot Team

  1. If you have a named account manager or are a Solutions Partner, call them and request cancellation at the end of the Current Term.
  2. Ask for written confirmation by email afterwards; do not rely on a verbal agreement alone.

Account deletion for free tools

  1. If you only use HubSpot free tools, sign in and delete the account from Account Settings > Account Defaults > Delete account.
  2. Deletion is direct and does not require cancellation of a paid subscription.

Cancel by reason

Moving / change of business jurisdiction

If you relocate your business to a jurisdiction that changes tax or legal conditions, contact your HubSpot account manager and provide a company registration document showing the new address. HubSpot's published cancellation process requires turning off auto-renewal or contacting support; specific relocation-based exceptions are not published by HubSpot.

Price increase

If HubSpot raises the price during a Subscription Term, check your contract. HubSpot Terms of Service require notice for changes; if the price increase materially breaches your agreement, you may have grounds to terminate for cause. Provide the price increase notice and your contract as proof. Refer to HubSpot Terms of Service (ToS).

Death of the subscriber

For corporate accounts, contact HubSpot with a certified copy of the death certificate, proof of authority for the representative (executors) and account details. HubSpot does not publish a formal policy for individual death cancellations; you must provide the documents requested by HubSpot support.

Legitimate ground - breach by HubSpot

Under HubSpot Terms of Service, you may terminate the Agreement for cause if HubSpot materially breaches the Agreement and fails to cure. Required proof: copies of correspondence showing the breach and the required cure period. If you validly terminate for cause, HubSpot will refund prepaid but unused fees for the Subscription Service after termination per the ToS (ToS).

End of commitment

HubSpot allows cancellation at the end of the Current Term by turning off auto-renewal in Account & Billing. Mid-contract cancellations are not permitted; the exact length of your Current Term is stated in your billing documents. Required proof to cancel: admin access to the account or written instruction from the account admin.

Cooling-off period (14 days)

The Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 give consumers a 14-day right to cancel distance contracts. This right can be limited for digital content once performance has started with the consumer's express consent. To exercise the 14-day right, provide your cancellation notice within 14 days of contract conclusion and request reimbursement. Source: Regulations 2013.

Negotiate or save

Before you cancel: negotiate

Research does not show public retention discounts that HubSpot routinely offers. If you want to negotiate, contact your account manager or HubSpot support from your Account & Billing page and request a retention or pricing review. Ask for a written offer stating new price, commitment length and effective date. Keep any written offer as proof.

What cancelling saves you - examples and math

Use your actual plan figures to compute annual savings. Examples using HubSpot UK prices from HubSpot's published pricing data:

  • Marketing Hub Professional: monthly price published as £780. Annual cost if billed monthly: 780 x 12 = £9,360 per year. If billed annually the published per-month equivalent is £702 so annual billed cost = 702 x 12 = £8,424 per year.
  • Sales Hub Professional: £85 per seat per month. One seat for 12 months = 85 x 12 = £1,020 per year.
  • Sales Hub Starter: £18 per seat per month. One seat for 12 months = 18 x 12 = £216 per year.
  • Smart CRM Professional (standalone): annual price listed as £44 per seat. Annual cost per seat = 44 x 12 = £528 per year.
  • Content Hub Professional: monthly price published as £440. Annual cost if billed monthly = 440 x 12 = £5,280 per year. If billed annually listed as £396 per month then annual billed cost = 396 x 12 = £4,752 per year.

Example saving: cancelling one Sales Hub Professional seat saves £1,020 per year. Cancelling Marketing Hub Professional if you pay monthly saves £9,360 per year.

Cheapest real alternative

Common lower-cost CRM alternatives used by UK businesses include Pipedrive and Zoho CRM. Example prices (published UK entry-level prices): Pipedrive Essential £12.50 per user per month (annual = 12.50 x 12 = £150 per year), Zoho CRM Standard £12 per user per month (annual = £144 per year). Use these numbers to compare true yearly savings after cancelling HubSpot.

What to do after cancelling HubSpot

Access and data retention

After cancellation of a paid subscription, HubSpot downgrades the account to HubSpot free tools. Export your data before the end of the Current Term. Export formats: CSV for contacts, deals and lists; download attachments separately.

Final billing and invoices

HubSpot does not refund prepaid fees except where the Agreement allows refunds after termination for cause. Check your last invoice and final bill in Account & Billing. If you believe an overpayment occurred, request a refund citing the overpayment and include invoice numbers.

Deleting your account

Once downgraded to the free tools, you may delete the account from Account Settings. Deleting the account removes data; ensure you exported all necessary records first.

Re-activation

You can re-subscribe or re-activate paid hubs later. Re-activation requires selecting a plan, and any new subscription will be subject to current pricing and onboarding fees where applicable.

Next steps and practical checklist

Follow this checklist to cancel HubSpot and protect your data and finances.

  • Identify the account admin and portal ID in Account & Billing.
  • Export contacts, deals, lists and reports as CSV before cancellation.
  • Turn off auto-renewal in Account & Billing at least 1 day before renewal.
  • Request written confirmation of cancellation via email or support ticket and keep it.
  • If you paid annually and believe you are entitled to a refund, gather invoices and the reason for the claim.
  • If you have an onboarding fee paid, note that onboarding fees are typically non-refundable per your contract.
  • Send a recorded-delivery letter to HubSpot UK if you cannot get written confirmation by email: HubSpot, 1 Ashley Road, WA14 2DT Altrincham, United Kingdom.
  • If cancellation is disputed, escalate to Citizens Advice and consider a payment chargeback if applicable.
