Web - cancel via account settings

1. Open your browser and go to the VidIQ web app and sign in.
2. Click your avatar or account menu and choose Account Settings.
3. Select Manage Plan or Plans.
4. Choose Cancel Subscription and follow the downgrade wizard to confirm cancellation.
5. Record the on-screen confirmation and the confirmation email from VidIQ as proof.
6. Access to paid features continues until the end of the current billing cycle.

iOS - cancel via Apple App Store

1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
2. Tap your Apple ID, then Subscriptions.
3. Find the VidIQ subscription and tap Cancel Subscription.
4. Save the Apple cancellation confirmation email or screenshot of the Subscriptions screen.
5. VidIQ notes that App Store cancellations must be handled directly through Apple; VidIQ cannot cancel App Store billed subscriptions for you.

Android - cancel via Google Play

1. Open the Google Play Store app and ensure you are signed into the account used to purchase VidIQ.
2. Tap your profile, then Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
3. Select VidIQ and tap Cancel subscription.
4. Keep the Google Play cancellation confirmation as proof.

Email - ask VidIQ support to cancel

1. Send an email to [email protected] stating your account email and request to cancel your subscription.
2. Include the plan name, last four digits of the card used if applicable, and the date you want cancellation to take effect.
3. Keep the reply from support as confirmation. Response times are not published; allow 24 to 72 hours.

Post - registered letter

1. Prepare a signed cancellation letter including your full name, account email, plan name and request to cancel.
2. Send the letter by registered mail to VidIQ, 535 Mission St, 94105 San Francisco, USA.
3. Keep the registered post delivery receipt as proof.

Moving / relocation

If you move country this is not an automatic legal ground for immediate refund from VidIQ. You may cancel immediately and you will retain access to paid features until the end of your billing cycle. Provide proof of address change only if you are asking for a pro rata refund; VidIQ policy states they do not offer refunds for unused days unless explicitly agreed by support.

Price increase

If VidIQ raises the price of a subscription, you can cancel before the new price takes effect and you will retain access to features until the end of the current billing cycle. If VidIQ imposes a change that is a material alteration to services, cite the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and request a contract variation or cancellation by contacting support and keeping written proof.

Death of subscriber

In the event of the subscriber's death, provide a death certificate and proof of estate administration to request cancellation and account closure via [email protected]. VidIQ's published support channels should be used to give documentation; statutory law on bereavement does not create automatic refunds beyond VidIQ policy.

Legitimate ground accepted by VidIQ

VidIQ accepts cancellation via the web app, App Store and Google Play. VidIQ's public resources note that refunds are not offered for unused days as standard. If you want a refund for exceptional reasons, supply supporting documents and request escalation through support.

End of commitment

If you are on a monthly plan there is no minimum commitment; cancel anytime and access continues until the billing period ends. If on an annual plan canceling will stop auto renewal but you keep access until the paid year ends. This is consistent with VidIQ's cancellation process.

Cooling-off period (14 days)

Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 you have a 14-day cooling-off period for services bought online. If digital content begins to be supplied during the 14-day period and you gave express consent to start, the right to a refund for unused days may be limited. Before cancelling: negotiate

VidIQ sometimes handles retention requests through support. Research shows individual customers have reported agents helping to cancel or resolve subscription issues. Contact support at [email protected] and request a retention offer or plan downgrade. Example script: state the plan name, ask for a lower-cost plan (Pro at £5.98/month) or temporary pause, and request written confirmation of the offer. If charged via Apple or Google, ask the platform for a refund when appropriate.

Boost: £24.50 x 12 = £294.00 per year. If you switch from Boost monthly to Free, your saving is 24.50 x 12 = £294.00 per year.

Cheapest real alternative from competitors: Younalyse charges €14.95/month which is approximately £13.00/month depending on exchange rates. That equates to £13.00 x 12 = £156.00 per year. If you cancel VidIQ Boost at £24.50/month and move to Younalyse at ~£13.00/month, yearly saving is £294.00 - £156.00 = £138.00 per year.

Relevant UK law

The Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 set a 14-day cooling-off period for distance contracts. See the Regulations.

Consumer Rights Act 2015

The Consumer Rights Act 2015 requires services to be performed with reasonable care and skill and prohibits unfair contract terms. If VidIQ fails to deliver services with reasonable care and skill, you may have statutory remedies under that Act.

Auto-renewal and escalation

The Competition and Markets Authority treats hard-to-cancel subscriptions and unclear auto-renewal terms as potential unfair practices. If VidIQ refuses a lawful refund or uses misleading renewal terms, escalate to Citizens Advice and consider chargeback or Section 75 for qualifying card payments. First complain to VidIQ support, then escalate to Citizens Advice or the relevant ombudsman if needed.

Check access and features

After cancellation you retain access to paid features until the end of your current billing cycle. Check your account plan page to confirm expiry date.

Export data

Export any analytics reports, keyword lists or AI outputs you need before the end of the billing cycle. VidIQ does not publish automatic data export schedules.

Final billing and receipts

Save the last billing receipt and the cancellation confirmation email as proof. VidIQ states that refunds or credits for unused days are not offered as standard; for disputes use the recorded proof and contact support or your card issuer.

Re-activation

You can re-subscribe at any time through the VidIQ web app or via the relevant app store. Re-subscribing will bill according to the then-current price.
