Moving / relocation

If you are relocating, Zoom does not list a specific relocation-based cancellation policy in its public billing guidance. If your subscription was purchased directly from Zoom, cancel via the web portal and provide proof of address change only if requested by Support. Price increase

If Zoom increases the price at renewal, you may rely on the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 renewal cooling-off rules if the increase triggers a renewal notice requirement. Death of subscriber

Zoom does not publish a standard online form for subscriber death. Contact Zoom Support with the account email and a death certificate; cancellation will then be processed by Support. Applicable law: Consumer Rights Act 2015 for services obligations.

Legitimate ground and account problems

Zoom lists reasons why self-service cancellation might be unavailable: the subscription is scheduled to cancel at the end of the billing period instead of immediately; inability to access the associated email address; outstanding balance or unpaid invoices; subscription managed by a third party; or subscription type requires Zoom Support assistance. End of commitment

If you are at the end of a fixed subscription term, cancel before renewal via the web portal. For Enterprise agreements with minimums, note Enterprise requires minimum 50 users per Zoom documentation. Keep the contract or plan documentation as proof.

Cooling-off (14 day) rights

If the contract was concluded at a distance or off-premises, the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 provide a 14-day cancellation right for most online purchases. Before you cancel - negotiate

Zoom does not publish standard retention discounts. There are no public reports of guaranteed retention offers. To request a retention offer, open a Billing support ticket in the Zoom web portal, state your current plan and renewal date, and ask for discounted annual pricing or temporary credits. Keep any offer in writing before cancelling.

Key UK laws

The Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 give a 14-day cooling-off right for most distance and off-premises contracts. The Consumer Rights Act 2015 requires services to be performed with reasonable care and skill and prohibits unfair contract terms. The Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 establishes renewal cooling-off periods and imposes rules on subscription renewals.

Cooling-off and renewals

The Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 confirms consumers have a right to cancel during an initial cooling-off period and renewal cooling-off periods; the cancellation takes effect when notified and no penalty may be charged for cancellation under the Act. How to escalate

First complain to Zoom Billing via Support. If unresolved, contact Citizens Advice for guidance and consider a bank chargeback or Section 75 claim if payment was by a qualifying credit card. If billing practices appear hard-to-cancel or unclear, raise concerns with the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA).

Check confirmation and final billing

After cancellation via the web portal you should receive a confirmation email from Zoom. Keep that email and any final invoice. Charges already processed are generally non-refundable according to Zoom's public refund guidance; exceptions apply for unauthorised charges.

Access, data and exports

Your account converts to Basic when the paid period ends. Download recordings, transcripts and any files stored in Zoom cloud storage before the end of the subscription term to retain copies. If you have questions about retained data after cancellation, open a Zoom Support ticket.

Reactivation

You can reactivate by purchasing a new subscription in your Zoom account or by selecting an upgraded plan in the web portal. Keep your original account email and billing records to speed reactivation.
