How payments work

Buy Me a Coffee takes a 5% platform fee per transaction and payment processing is handled by Stripe with a typical processing fee of 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction. Creators receive payouts after platform and processing fees are deducted.

Web (recommended)

1. Go to https://buymeacoffee.com/.
2. Sign in using your creator or supporter account.
3. Open Account Settings. For supporters with memberships, open Memberships or Subscriptions to find active subscriptions.
4. Click Cancel on the membership tier you want to stop. Confirm cancellation when prompted.
5. To remove your account entirely, go to Delete Account and follow the deletion confirmation. Deleting the account removes associated data but does not automatically cancel a subscription unless you cancel the membership first.
6. Keep the on-screen confirmation and any confirmation email as proof.

iOS

1. If you subscribed through the App Store, open the Settings app on your iPhone.
2. Tap your Apple ID > Subscriptions.
3. Find the Buy Me a Coffee subscription and select Cancel Subscription.
4. If you used the Buy Me a Coffee app directly, sign in and navigate to Memberships to cancel inside the app.
5. Save the App Store receipt or app confirmation email as proof.

Moving abroad or migration

If moving countries affects payment method or legal rights, cancel your membership via Account Settings and update payment details where needed. Price increase

If a recurring membership price increases and you did not agree to the new price, you may cancel before the next renewal. Legitimate ground accepted by Buy Me a Coffee

Buy Me a Coffee accepts cancellation of memberships by the account owner and will consider refunds for duplicate payments, unauthorized card use, non-delivery of promised content, or failure to deliver content within agreed timeframes. End of commitment

Many memberships are rolling monthly with no minimum commitment. To stop payments, cancel the membership before the next billing date in Account Settings. Cooling-off (14-day right)

Data and account deletion

Deleting your account removes associated data from the platform, but deleting the account alone does not automatically cancel a paid membership. Final billing and refunds

If you requested a refund and it was approved, approved refunds are processed in 5-7 business days. If funds were already transferred to the creator, a refund may be delayed until the creator has sufficient balance or agrees to reverse the payment.

Re-activation

You can re-subscribe to a creator at any time by signing in and choosing a membership tier again. Re-activating does not automatically reinstate past paid perks unless the creator agrees.

Follow this checklist to cancel and protect your rights.
