Membership types and key features

The current primary paid plans listed by the Club are Premium Membership, Matchday Membership and Junior Membership. A free registration option provides access to the Cityzens Portal without payment.

Web - cancel via mancity.com

1. Go to https://www.mancity.com/memberships.
2. Sign in to your account using your membership credentials.
3. Locate the subscription or membership management area and choose 'Cancel membership' or opt out of auto-renewal.
4. Follow on-screen steps and confirm. Keep the confirmation screen or confirmation email.
5. If you do not receive an email, take a screenshot showing cancellation and save your account activity log.

iOS - cancel via Apple

1. Open Settings on your iPhone.
2. Tap your name, then Subscriptions.
3. Find City+ or Manchester City subscription and tap Cancel Subscription.
4. Retain the Apple confirmation email or screenshot as proof.

Android - cancel via Google Play

1. Open Google Play Store app.
2. Tap your profile, then Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
3. Select the City+ or membership subscription and tap Cancel subscription.
4. Keep Google Play confirmation for proof.

Email - request cancellation by email

1. Send a clearly worded message from your registered email to [email protected] stating your membership number and request to cancel.
2. Subject line suggestion: "Cancel membership - [Your name] - [Membership number]".
3. Save the sent email and any reply as proof of cancellation.

Post - cancel by registered letter

1. Write a signed letter including your full name, membership number, date of birth and clear instruction to cancel.

3. Keep the proof of postage and delivery receipt and a copy of the letter.

Moving - change of address

Rule and required proof: If you permanently move outside the territory where the membership is provided and the Club accepts regional restrictions, provide proof of new address such as a utility bill or official document. The Club's published terms do not list a guaranteed entitlement to cancel for moving, so submit documentary evidence to [email protected] and request a review.

Price increase

Rule and required proof: If the Club increases the membership price and the increase is not permitted by the original contract terms, you may have the right to cancel. Death of the subscriber

Legitimate ground

Rule and required proof: Legitimate grounds include inability to use the service because the Club materially changes the service, or legal incapacity. Provide documentary proof of the ground relevant to your case (medical certificate; official notice). End of commitment

Rule and required proof: Most memberships are sold on a 12-month rolling basis. To stop renewal, exclude your membership from auto-renewal by 5pm on the date specified by the Club prior to the Renewal Date. Keep confirmation of opt-out as proof.

Cooling-off period (14 days)

Rule and required proof: For online contracts you have a 14 day cooling-off period from the date of subscription to cancel and receive a full refund provided you have not accessed any City+ Content. If you accessed City+ Content during the cooling-off period, you may not be entitled to a refund for that month. To claim a refund, send a cancellation message within 14 days and state you have not accessed paid digital content, or provide evidence that you requested cancellation before access.

Before cancelling: negotiate

Retention offers known from research: there are no public reports of specific retention discounts or bespoke downgrades offered by Manchester City Football Club for memberships. If you wish to ask for a retention offer, email [email protected] with your membership number, state your intention to cancel and ask if there are reduced-rate options or a switch to Free Registration. Example comparison with the cheapest competitor listed: England+ is £20 per year. If you cancel Premium (£65) and subscribe to England+ (£20), net yearly saving = £65 - £20 = £45 per year. Calculation: £65 - £20 = £45.

Key UK consumer law

The main protections are the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 which gives a 14 day cooling-off right for online contracts, and the Consumer Rights Act 2015 which requires services to be provided with reasonable care and skill and restricts unfair contract terms. How to escalate a refusal

Check access and final billing

After cancellation you retain access until the end of the current paid billing period. Check your account page and any confirmation email for the expiry date and final charge amount.

Data and re-activation
