Cancel Funimation the easy way

Funimation was a specialist anime streaming and distribution company focused on English-dubbed and subtitled anime. The brand and much of its catalogue have migrated to Crunchyroll following corporate consolidation under Sony Group Corporation.

Funimation Productions is owned by Sony Group Corporation. The service's operations and library have been integrated with Crunchyroll, affecting where subscribers access content in the United Kingdom.

How it worked

Historically Funimation offered ad-supported and paid tiers, with features such as ad-free streaming, HD playback, and downloadable episodes on higher tiers. UK legacy prices included a Free Tier at £0.00, Premium at £4.99/month or £49.99/year, and Premium Plus at £7.99/month or £79.99/year.

Web (account) cancellation

1. Sign in to your Funimation account or to the Crunchyroll account if your Funimation subscription has migrated.
2. Go to Account Settings or Subscriptions.
3. Locate the active subscription line and choose Cancel or Manage Subscription then Cancel.
4. Confirm cancellation in the prompts and keep the on-screen confirmation or any confirmation email.

iOS (App Store) cancellation

1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
2. Tap your name, then Subscriptions.
3. Find the Funimation or Crunchyroll subscription and tap Cancel Subscription.
4. Keep the Apple confirmation screen or Apple email as proof.

Android (Google Play) cancellation

1. Open the Google Play Store app and tap your profile icon.
2. Tap Payments & subscriptions then Subscriptions.
3. Select the Funimation or Crunchyroll subscription and tap Cancel subscription.

Phone cancellation

1. Use the customer support phone number if available on your account portal. Funimation does not publish a UK phone number publicly.
2. Give your account email, subscription ID, and clear instruction: Cancel my subscription effective immediately.

Email cancellation

1. Send an email from your account address to the service support address listed inside your account (support email is not publicly disclosed).
