Cooling-off (change of mind within 14 days)
If your Teleparty contract was concluded online or off-premises, you have a 14 day statutory cooling-off right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. To cancel within 14 days, send your registered cancellation letter stating you are exercising the 14 day cancellation right. Provide order date and name. Refunds are due for payments already made unless you expressly requested immediate access to the service and accepted loss of refund for services rendered.
Applicable law: Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
Price increase
If Teleparty increases the price of a paid plan and you do not accept the change, you may have a right to cancel without penalty from the date the change is notified, if the change gives rise to an automatic renewal with worse terms. Send a registered letter citing the price increase and ask for termination effective immediately for that renewal period. Include the price increase notice and a copy of your purchase receipt.
Applicable law: Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 - renewal cooling-off protections.
Moving abroad
If you permanently move to a country where Teleparty is not available, you may request termination. Supply proof of address change such as a dated utility bill or official change of address document together with your registered cancellation letter. Teleparty's website lists availability in specific countries; verify at the official site before sending documentation.
Applicable law: Consumer Rights Act 2015 (service performed with reasonable care and skill).
Death of subscriber
Send a registered letter signed by the executor or a close relative and include a death certificate as proof. Request account termination and, where applicable, a refund for unused paid periods. Teleparty must process the request to close the account once valid proof is supplied.
Applicable law: Consumer Rights Act 2015.
End of commitment or planned cancellation
If you subscribed monthly, cancellation takes effect to stop future renewals once Teleparty processes your registered cancellation. If you subscribed annually, Teleparty rarely provides pro-rata refunds for unused months; request a pro-rata refund in your letter but prepare for refusal unless Teleparty agrees voluntarily.
Applicable law: Consumer Rights Act 2015 and Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024.
