Moving abroad (relocation outside the UK)
Rule: GoPuff's published policy allows refunding a FAM subscription if cancelled due to relocation outside the UK. Required proof: a copy of new residential documentation showing an address outside the United Kingdom (for example a tenancy agreement, utility bill or official letter). Applicable law: Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 for refund on cancellation within the cooling-off period when relevant.
Price increase or material change
Rule: GoPuff states that FAM fees are non-refundable except if GoPuff notifies the user of a material change that has adverse effects. Required proof: the notification from GoPuff proving the change and the date it was communicated. If GoPuff applies a material adverse change, you can cancel and request refund where listed in their terms. Applicable law: Consumer Rights Act 2015 for contract fairness and CMA guidance on unfair auto-renewal terms.
Death of the subscriber
Rule: GoPuff lists death as a specific exception for refunds to subscriptions. Required proof: a death certificate or equivalent legal document and contact details of the executor. Applicable law: Consumer Rights Act 2015 where service terms must be fair.
Disability or long-term incapacity
Rule: GoPuff accepts disability as a ground to cancel and potentially refund a subscription according to their FAM exception list. Required proof: medical evidence showing long-term incapacity. Applicable law: Consumer Rights Act 2015 and Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 where relevant to refunds during cooling-off.
End of subscription period
Rule: Outside the 14-day cooling-off period, FAM cancellations take effect at the end of the current subscription period and no refund is due for the remainder of that period. Required proof: account cancellation confirmation from GoPuff. Applicable law: Contract terms governed by the FAM subscription terms and Consumer Rights Act 2015.
14-day cooling-off period
Rule: Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 you have a 14-day statutory cooling-off period from the day you first sign up for a subscription. If you cancel within 14 days, all benefits cease and a full refund must be issued within 14 days to the original payment method. Required proof: cancellation message (in-app or email). Applicable law: Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
