Cancel Canva the easy way

Web (desktop / browser)

1. Open https://www.canva.com/ and sign in to the Canva account that holds the subscription.
2. Click your profile icon, choose Account settings.
3. Open Billing or Plans, select the active plan and choose Cancel plan.
4. Follow the on-screen prompts: Continue cancellation, choose a reason and confirm Cancel subscription.
5. Check your email for a cancellation confirmation message; keep this for records.

iOS (Apple App Store)

1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
2. Tap your name, then Subscriptions.
3. Find Canva in the list and tap Cancel Subscription.
4. Apple handles billing and any refund requests; if you need a refund contact Apple directly.
5. Do not rely on uninstalling the app; uninstalling does not cancel subscriptions handled by Apple.

Android (Google Play)

1. Open the Google Play Store and tap your profile icon.
2. Tap Payments and subscriptions then Subscriptions.
3. Select Canva and tap Cancel subscription.
4. Google Play will confirm cancellation and show the end date for access.

Phone

1. Canva does not publish a direct cancellation phone number for UK customers; use in-app support or email for account-specific requests.
2. If a phone contact is provided in a specific account support flow, request an email confirmation of cancellation.

Email

1. Send your cancellation request and account details to [email protected] or use the in-app Help chat and ask for cancellation.
2. Include your account email, plan type and request that Canva confirm cancellation by return email.
3. Allow 48-72 hours for a reply and retain the support response as proof.

Post (registered letter)

1. Write a clear statement: "I wish to cancel my Canva subscription for account [your email]." Sign and date the letter.
2. Send by registered post to: Canva, 1 Poultry, EC2R 8EJ London, United Kingdom.
3. Keep your proof of posting and request an end-of-contract notice in return.

Moving / change of country

If you move country and need to cancel a subscription, cancel by following the Web cancellation steps above. Provide proof of change of address when requesting any refund: copy of new utility bill or tenancy agreement. Applicable law: Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 for cancellation rights when contracts were concluded online.

Price increase

If Canva raises the price for your ongoing subscription and you do not accept the new price, you may cancel and request a refund for any amounts paid for future periods. Death of the subscriber

To close the account after the subscriber dies, contact Canva support and provide a copy of the death certificate and proof you are the executor or authorised representative. Request cancellation and a final billing statement. The trader must process contract end notices under the DMCCA where applicable.

Legitimate ground / service issue

If Canva fails to provide the service with reasonable care and skill, you may cancel under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Examples of legitimate grounds include persistent service outages that make the product unusable. Provide screenshots, timestamps and support correspondence as proof. End of commitment or trial

If you cancel during a paid billing period you retain access until the period ends. If you are within an initial 14-day cooling-off period for online contracts, you may cancel and request a refund under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. For renewals that fall under the DMCCA 2024 renewal cooling-off period, you can cancel within the 14-day renewal cooling-off period and request a refund. See DMCCA section 261.

Before you cancel: negotiate

Canva does not publish a standard retention discount. No retention offers are publicly reported in the research data. To request a saving, contact support via your account Help chat or email [email protected] and ask if there is an account credit, promotional extension or discounted annual upgrade. Provide your account email, current plan and the reason you want to stay. If Canva offers a pause, you can pause a Canva Pro, Business or Teams plan for up to 3 months with no charge and automatic resumption after the pause period; request the pause from support in-app.

What cancelling saves - exact math

Canva Pro monthly costs £13. Yearly cost if paid monthly: £13 x 12 = £156. Annual Canva Pro price: £100. Annual saving by switching to annual: £156 - £100 = £56 saved per year.

Canva Business example: monthly approx £16. Yearly if paid monthly: £16 x 12 = £192. Annual Canva Business price: approx £160. Annual saving by switching to annual: £192 - £160 = £32 saved per year.

Cheapest named alternative from competitor data: Placeit annual price listed at £6 (annual). If you cancel Canva Pro at annual cost £100 and move to Placeit at annual £6, the yearly direct subscription difference is £100 - £6 = £94 saved per year. Always check features and license terms before switching.

Key UK consumer law

Primary protections: Consumer Rights Act 2015 requires services to be performed with reasonable care and skill and prohibits unfair contract terms. The Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 give a 14-day cooling-off right for many online contracts. The Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 (DMCCA) adds two 14-day cooling-off periods including a renewal cooling-off right; the CMA enforces rules on auto-renewals and hard-to-cancel subscriptions.

Cooling-off and refunds

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 you have a 14-day right to cancel online contracts; digital content exception applies if you expressly agreed to immediate access. The DMCCA introduces an additional renewal cooling-off period; cancellation during these periods should lead to a refund for amounts already paid for future access. How to escalate

First raise the issue with Canva support and request an end-of-contract notice. If unresolved, contact Citizens Advice for guidance, then escalate to the Competition and Markets Authority or use card protections such as chargeback or Section 75 for qualifying credit card payments. The Consumer Rights Act 2015 and Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 are the statutory bases for complaints.

Check access and billing

After cancellation you will not be charged for future periods. You retain access to premium features until the end of the current billing period; check the date shown in your account and your final charge on the card statement.

Export or keep your designs and assets

Download important designs, brand kits and PDFs before the end of the billing period. All designs remain accessible on the Canva Free plan, but some premium elements may show watermarks or require separate licensing after downgrade.

Reactivation and records

You can re-activate your subscription any time by signing in and subscribing again. Save the cancellation confirmation email and any end-of-contract notice for 12 months in case of billing disputes.

Use this checklist immediately when cancelling to protect your data and payments.
