Overview

Now Membership is a subscription streaming service that sells content memberships such as Entertainment, Cinema, HBO Max add-on and Sports. Plans are sold as monthly flexible subscriptions and as promotional minimum-term offers to lower the monthly price for a fixed period.

Who it is for

Consumers who want on-demand TV shows, Sky Originals, Sky Cinema blockbusters or live sport without a satellite TV contract can subscribe to Now Membership plans on a monthly or minimum-term basis in the United Kingdom.

How it works

Members choose one or more content memberships and pay monthly. Memberships auto-renew by default. Some promotional offers require a 6-month or 12-month minimum commitment; flexible plans have no minimum term and can be cancelled online.

Web - step by step

1. On a desktop, laptop or tablet open https://www.nowtv.com and sign in to your NOW account.
2. Go to My Account and open Membership & Payment.
3. Select the membership or viewing experience you want to cancel.
4. Click Cancel membership or Cancel viewing experience and follow the on-screen steps until you see a confirmation message.
5. You will receive a confirmation email within 3 hours; keep it as proof.

iOS / Android / app users

1. If you bought a membership through Apple, cancel via your Apple subscriptions (Settings > Your name > Subscriptions) or via the Apple TV app if you subscribed there.
2. If you subscribed through Google Play, you must cancel via Google Play subscriptions.
3. For other app-platform purchases without a NOW account, follow the platform's cancellation flow.

Phone

1. NOW states specific cases (for example Sports Day pre-activation refunds) require contact with customer advisors.

Post

1. Write your full name, account email, membership to cancel, date of birth and request to Cancel Membership.

Moving address or relocating

NOW does not publish a special relocation cancellation rule. You may cancel online in the Member area. If you have difficulty, send proof of the new address and a cancellation request to customer advisors. The underlying right to cancel is governed by contract terms and by the Consumer Contracts Regulations for distance contracts where relevant.

Price increase

If NOW increases the price of your ongoing membership and you did not agree to the change, UK consumer law gives you the right to terminate a contract where the trader varies the contract to your detriment without your consent. Legitimate ground (service fault, outage)

The Consumer Rights Act 2015 requires services to be performed with reasonable care and skill. If NOW fails to provide the contracted streaming service, you may be entitled to remedies including repair, repeat performance, price reduction or termination. End of minimum commitment

Cooling-off (14 day right)

For content memberships purchased online you normally have a 14-day cooling-off period under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. However, you may lose the right to a refund for digital streaming if you expressly consent to the immediate start of the service and thereby waive the cooling-off right.

NOW publishes lower minimum-term offers (for example 6-month Entertainment or Cinema offers and 6-month HBO offers) and short promotional benefits such as one free ad-free month or one month of up to 4K Ultra HD on selected Sports 12-month offers. Use the web chat or account messaging inside My Account to ask for a retention offer. Explain that you will cancel unless offered a lower monthly price or a change of plan and quote the exact plan you want (for example "6 month Entertainment at £3.99").

How to ask: 1) Sign in and open My Account. 2) Use the chat or messaging option and say you want to reduce your monthly cost. 3) Ask to switch to the 6-month promotional plan or request a temporary discount. Keep any offer in writing.

Access and final billing

After you cancel a flexible plan you can continue to watch until your next payment due date. If you are on a minimum-term plan the service remains active until the end of the minimum term and any remaining monthly payments will be taken.

Data and account

Re-activation
