Web browser - exact steps

1. Open a computer or mobile web browser and go to the ESPN account sign in page.
2. Sign in with the account that has the ESPN+ subscription.
3. Hover (desktop) or tap (mobile) your Profile picture in the upper right corner.
4. Select 'ESPN+ Subscriptions' under the 'Manage my' section.
5. Click 'Manage Subscription', then choose 'Cancel Subscription'.
6. Confirm by selecting 'Cancel Now'.
7. Keep the confirmation screen or confirmation email as proof of cancellation.

iOS - exact steps

1. Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad.
2. Tap your Apple ID name, then tap Subscriptions.
3. Find ESPN or ESPN+ in the list and tap Cancel Subscription.
4. Confirm cancellation; Apple will provide a cancellation confirmation.
5. If your ESPN+ was purchased through Apple, do not attempt to cancel inside the ESPN app because the app does not manage Apple billing.

Android / Google Play - exact steps

1. Open the Google Play Store app and tap your profile icon.
2. Tap Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
3. Select ESPN or ESPN+ and tap Cancel subscription.
4. Follow on-screen confirmation; keep Google Play confirmation email.

Third-party platforms - exact steps

1. Identify the billing provider that charged you - Apple, Google, Roku, Amazon, Disney+, Hulu, Xfinity or Verizon.
2. Sign in to the third-party provider account and navigate to Subscriptions or Manage Purchases.
3. Follow the provider's cancellation flow and save the confirmation email or screenshot.
4. ESPN cannot cancel subscriptions that are billed by a third party; contact that third party if you need customer support.

Phone / Email / Post

ESPN documentation requires account cancellation via a web or mobile browser. A postal registered letter can be sent to the address below but web cancellation is the supported path. Moving abroad or relocation

If you move and your new country prevents access or you cannot use the service, notify ESPN with a clear cancellation statement and proof of new address such as a utility bill or rental agreement. The trader must acknowledge the cancellation and provide an end of contract notice under the renewal cooling-off rules in the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024.

Price increase

If ESPN Plus increases the subscription price during a contract term, you have the right to cancel without penalty if the price increase was not agreed in the original contract. Provide the price change notice from ESPN as proof. This follows the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 requirements for renewal notices and consumer rights.

Death of subscriber

To cancel because of the subscriber's death provide a copy of the death certificate and proof of authority to act on the estate. ESPN's support channels should be supplied with these documents and will process cancellation; the applicable legal framework for contract termination is the Consumer Rights Act 2015 when assessing any obligations.

End of commitment

If you subscribed with no minimum commitment you may cancel at any time. If you used a promotional or annual plan, cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period and no penalty can be charged for lawful cancellation rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Cooling-off (14 day right when applicable)

For online sales concluded under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 you have a 14-day cooling-off right if the contract is a distance contract and the trader did not begin performance with your express consent. If streaming or digital content access began with your express consent and acknowledgment that you lose the right to cancel, the digital content exception applies and the 14-day refund may not be available. ESPN does not publish standard retention offers publicly. If you want to keep the service, contact ESPN support through your account chat or help centre and ask if there are any promotional discounts or bundle price changes for your account. Record the date, agent name and any offer code you receive. If your subscription was billed by a third party, request offers from that third party account team.

Key UK consumer law

Services must be performed with reasonable care and skill under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Distance and online contracts give consumers a 14-day cooling-off right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, with exceptions for digital content started with express consent.

Auto-renewal and hard-to-cancel rules

The Competition and Markets Authority monitors unclear auto-renewal and hard-to-cancel subscriptions. The Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 requires traders to provide a renewal cooling-off notice and a prompt end of contract notice that specifies cancellation date and refunds. Access after cancellation

After you cancel you will retain access until the end of the paid billing period. No prorated refund is provided by ESPN for partial periods under their stated policy.

Data and account retention

If you want your account data deleted, request account deletion via your ESPN account settings or support. Keep any confirmation emails for proof. If you plan to re-subscribe later, sign-in credentials remain unless you request deletion.

Final billing and refunds

ESPN does not provide refunds or credits for partially used billing periods. If you believe you qualify for a statutory refund under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 or the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024, escalate with evidence and cite the relevant law.
