Moving abroad or outside service area
Rule - If you permanently move to an area where DoorDash does not operate or DashPass is not offered, you have legitimate grounds to request cancellation and a refund for future paid periods if benefits cannot be used. Required proof - proof of new address such as a utility bill or tenancy agreement showing the new address. Applicable law - Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Price increase
Rule - If DoorDash increases the DashPass price and you reject the new price, you may cancel and ask for a refund for unused time where the change was not agreed. Required proof - the price increase notice (email or in-app notification) and your account details. Applicable law - Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 and oversight by the Competition and Markets Authority regarding unfair auto-renewal terms.
Death of the subscriber
Rule - The estate or an authorised representative can cancel the subscription. Required proof - death certificate and proof of authority (executor details). Applicable law - Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
Service failure or benefits not provided
Rule - If DoorDash fails to provide the service with reasonable care and skill or DashPass benefits are not honoured, you can request cancellation and a refund or partial refund. Required proof - screenshots, order records showing failed benefits, and correspondence with support. Applicable law - Consumer Rights Act 2015.
End of commitment
Rule - For monthly or annual subscriptions you may cancel before the next renewal per DoorDash notice periods: at least 24 hours for monthly and 48 hours for annual. Required proof - cancellation confirmation from DoorDash. Applicable law - Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
Cooling-off period (14 days)
Rule - For contracts concluded online you have a 14-day cooling-off period under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. If you cancel within 14 days for an annual subscription, you may be entitled to a full refund provided you did not expressly consent to immediate service start that removes the right to a refund for used digital content.
