Death of the subscriber
Send a copy of the death certificate and account details by post or email to [email protected] and request cancellation and data deletion. Keep proof of delivery. Applicable law: follow standard contract law and data subject rights under UK GDPR.
Legitimate ground
Ditto accepts legitimate grounds where consumer law provides a right to terminate such as misrepresentation, defective service or material change in contract terms. Provide documentary proof: screenshots, dated emails, bank statements showing charges, or written confirmation of service failures. Applicable law: Consumer Rights Act 2015.
End of commitment
Because Ditto Music plans are billed annually, your contract period typically ends at the yearly renewal date. To avoid renewal, cancel at least 48 hours before renewal where possible and keep confirmation. If renewal terms are unclear, use a clear written cancellation to create a record. Applicable law: Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 and Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
Cooling-off period
For most online service contracts you have a 14-day cooling-off period under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. For life insurance arranged through Ditto, there is a 30-day cooling-off period counted from receipt of policy documents or cover start (whichever is later) with a full refund if no claim has been made. Provide the cancellation in writing. Applicable law: Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013; 30-day cooling-off for life insurance per live research.
